How to make Christmas tree balls from paper with your own hands

Option 1. You can make a ball for the Christmas tree with your own hands like this. You need to take sheets of colored paper in three different colors. You also need a circle template; you can outline a glass or saucer, depending on the size of the ball you need. Cut out four circles from each sheet of colored paper. There will be a total of twelve circles.

Important! To make the DIY Christmas tree balls interesting, the circles should be folded in a certain order. For example, a couple of green ones, a couple of orange circles and a couple more blue ones.

This is how you make a toy ball for a Christmas tree with your own hands. Fold a stack of alternating circles in half. You need to put a thread in the middle for hanging.

After this, fasten the middle in two places with a stapler. Each page in the shape of a semicircle is divided into three equal parts. Apply glue diagonally to the top of the first semicircle and glue it to the second. Next, glue the third circle to the second, and to the fourth, and so on around the entire circumference.

With the lower part everything is similar, only in reverse. Where the top part is glued, do not touch the bottom, skip and start from the next circle. As a result, you should get a ball like the one in the photo.

Option 2. Third method. You need to cut colored paper into circles. Fold the sides of each circle into the center to make something like a triangle. Next, glue the parts together at the folds, forming a ball.

Option 3. You need to prepare a template, as in the figure below. All highlighted lines need to be cut. Thanks to these slits, the ball will then be formed. Simply connect each part to the next one at the slots. You will get a cheerful flower ball.

Making balls decorated with acorn caps

The fastest way to make a Christmas tree toy is to buy a foam ball blank. You can also do it yourself. But it is not always possible to find a sheet of foam plastic at least 10 cm high.

If there is one, then you need to cut out a cube of 10*10*10 cm with a knife. And then gradually round this cube until you get a ball. And all small irregularities can be easily removed with sandpaper. For decoration, you must first prepare a large number of acorn caps.

So, the blank ball must initially be painted brown using acrylic paints. Next, you need to use polymer glue to glue each cap to the surface of the ball until it is completely covered with this interesting decor.

If there are gaps, they can be masked with silver glitter. The result was a space ball, resembling either some undiscovered planet, or the moon with its craters.

New Year's balls made of felt

Making a Christmas tree ball with your own hands from felt is done like this.On thin cardboard you need to prepare templates of flowers of different sizes - one larger, the other smaller.

Then cut out these templates and transfer them to felt of different colors. For example, small flowers will be white, and larger ones will be pink. Cut out the translated flowers. To fill the entire surface of the ball, you will need a lot of them, so feel free to cut more.

When flowers of two sizes are prepared, they need to be sewn one with the other, securing a bead in the center. We glue the stitched blanks onto the surface of the ball using a silicone glue gun. It turns out to be a very bright New Year's toy, pleasing to the eye!

Making New Year's balls from threads

One of the easiest ways is to wrap an outdated, outdated Christmas tree ball with thick threads or twine. In some places you need to apply glue to keep the threads in place. The resulting ball of thread can be decorated with beads or lace.

You can make a large ball for the Christmas tree with your own hands from threads in eco style. Nowadays such balls are at the peak of popularity; they can be found as decor in cafes and children's institutions. For decoration I make them large, but for the Christmas tree you can limit yourself to the minimum size.

You need to arm yourself with glue or paste, a couple of balloons and twine. The ball is inflated to the required size and randomly wrapped with threads on top. Afterwards, treat the threads well with glue, especially the intersections. After the glue has dried, burst the ball using a needle or other sharp object.

How to make a big ball from many decorative balls

In stores, along with standard foam blanks, small balls are sold. There are a lot of them in the package, enough to make a large ball.That is, you need a regular foam ball and a package of small ones.

Small ones will be glued over the entire surface of a regular ball using a glue gun. Of course, you need to decorate them initially. The easiest way is to wrap 2-3 layers of thread for sewing or knitting. In this case, you can take both multi-colored ones and all of the same tone.

And it’s also a quick method, but you’ll have to tinker a little longer. The balls can be covered with sequins, again you can play with colors or stick to one color.

Important! There are sequins that are straight or slightly concave in the center. Even ones are not suitable for decoration, since they will not cover the ball. They will have to be glued in several layers. It is better to immediately opt for ordinary, that is, concave sequins.
