Artificial Christmas trees have become quite a popular home decoration for the New Year, but, unfortunately, they also do not last forever. After several years of use, the tree becomes unusable. There is no need to rush to take it out into the trash; if you use your imagination, you can give it a second life in the form of other New Year’s decor items. So, three ideas that will help you recycle your old artificial tree for good.

From an old Christmas tree you can make the most original fakes that will decorate your New Year's interior. Such products are easy and simple to make, and most importantly, they can be made with children.

New Year's basket

You can make an unusual basket yourself in just a few hours. This is a simple but effective decorative element. Materials and tools:

1. Elements of an old Christmas tree (paws).
2. Basket (can be made of wicker, felt, metal wire).
3. A garland with small bulbs 1.5 - 2 meters long.
4. Glue gun.
5. The tape is transparent.
6. Decor (Christmas balls, toys, pine cones, bows, tinsel).

The old Christmas tree is disassembled into individual parts. Only paws are useful for work. If metal hook pins are used for fastening, they are cut off using wire cutters.

Select several suitable tree legs and combine them into a “bouquet”; tape is useful for this.

3. Toilet paper or napkins.
4. PVA glue.
5. Gouache paints.
6. Glue gun.
7. Thick cardboard, such as a box.
8. New Year's decor.

The tree is disassembled into separate legs. A “bouquet” is formed from several branches, the ends of which are wrapped with construction tape - this will be the face of the hedgehog. Using the papier-mâché technique, a spout is formed. To do this, a layer of PVA glue is applied to the tape, and napkins previously torn into small pieces are glued on top. Important! After each layer of napkins is applied, the product must be set aside to dry completely.
