2. Errors made during installation. This may be an incorrect level of the base of the shower stall, which can cause deformation. The same result is possible if the fasteners are too tight.
3. Heavy loads. This may cause cracks to appear. This can happen if an adult and a child enter the pallet at the same time.
4. Fall of a heavy object. It also negatively affects the condition of the product. Especially if its edges are sharp.

If the damage is caused by the reasons listed above, you should first soberly assess the amount of damage. After assessing the current situation, you can begin to repair the damage, if possible and makes sense.

What you need for DIY repairs

If damage is noticed in the pan, do not put off fixing it until later. It will not go away on its own, and it will only get worse. A small crack will increase in size and eventually the pallet may completely fall apart.

Having noticed the first signs of a crack, it is better to immediately refrain from using the device. The tray needs to be washed and cleared of grease. By opening the doors and windows, you should ventilate the shower room. Repair work cannot be carried out if the room is damp and humid.

To work you need to prepare the following set:

• working tools (keys, set of screwdrivers, level);
• epoxy;
• fiberglass, knife or scissors for cutting it;
• acrylic paint and brush;
• sandpaper;
• degreasing agent;
• dentifrice;
• rags for cleaning.

Children and animals, if any, must be removed from the room where the work will be carried out.

How to restore a pallet if it is cracked or burst

During use, any device wears out and can become damaged. Shower cabins are not immune to this. Each type of fault is unique and requires a different approach to repair. The task should be approached responsibly - there is no need to do the work in such a way as to then have to redo it.

Repairing small cracks

Small cracks are a fairly common type of damage. Eliminating them as soon as they are discovered will prevent them from increasing in size.

You need to adhere to the following action plan:

1. We clean the edges of the crack with a knife.We remove the acrylic until the walls of the damaged area match the original color.
2. We clean everything from dust and wipe the surface with alcohol.
3. We wear protective equipment (goggles, gloves, respirator). We first prepare acrylic-based paint.
4. Apply acrylic to the damaged area with a brush. We repeat this until the paint layer is above the bottom level.
5. After drying, sand off the excess with sandpaper.

Repairing large cracks

Large cracks are more dangerous because they grow quickly and can completely destroy the pallet. Paint will no longer be useful here; other measures will have to be taken.

1. We remove the pallet. In this case, the water must be turned off and all supply pipes must be disconnected.
2. We clean the entire surface from dirt and wipe it.
3. We increase the size of the gap so that no dirt or fiber remains remain. If necessary, you can make a through hole.
4. We treat the entire surface with sandpaper and remove dust, then wipe it with alcohol.
5. We dilute the epoxy compound and treat the surface from the outside with it. Place gauze over the glue and press it tightly. We repeat this procedure four times.
6. Fill the crack from the inside with epoxy compound. Leave for twenty-four hours. After hardening, we clean it with sandpaper and apply acrylic paint.
7. We carry out grinding and polishing. After all this, put the pan in place and turn on the water. We check the tightness.

Such manipulations will make the pallet stronger than it was at the time of purchase.

Repairing holes

If a heavy object falls onto the pallet, this will certainly lead to the formation of a hole. Although the consequences seem catastrophic, they are completely avoidable.

You need to do this:

1. We dismantle the pallet. We proceed with caution. Remove dirt, wash and dry.
2. We clean the edges of the hole. We treat the surface with alcohol.
3. Using fiberglass cloth and epoxy, we make a patch.
4. Mix the epoxy compound. Pour it inside the hole. It must be greater than the depth of the hole.
5. We place the second patch on top of the glue. After everything has hardened, apply acrylic paint.

In this way, holes no larger than ten centimeters in diameter can be eliminated. Larger damage cannot be repaired.

Prevention

In order not to expose your favorite shower stall to the risk of breakdowns, following simple rules for using the device will be enough. The first thing you need to remember is the rules for installing and installing the pallet.

When taking a shower, you should not jump inside the tray or invite someone else with you, even if you really want to. Considering that the watering can has sharp edges, you need to use it carefully. If you drop a watering can, the fall may not only leave scratches, but the tray may split or break through.

Reference. For cleaning, only soap or alcohol based substances should be used. Solutions with acetone and acids are harmful to the surface. It is better to install the pallet on the brickwork, and foam the space between it and the body.

The condition of the product should be checked periodically. If damage is found, it should be repaired immediately. This is the only way to ensure long-term operation of the device.
