Dimensions of wall-hung toilet

Having replaced the floor-standing toilet with a wall-hung one, I have never regretted this step. It is much more convenient to clean with it, it visually expands the space, and it just looks much nicer: the tiles on the floor look integral and retain their pattern, and instead of an ugly tank there is a neat wall, also covered with tiles, on which I also plan to hang shelves for all sorts of things. stuff. Of course, there were some subtleties with it, for example, related to choosing the right size, but they are also quite surmountable.

Dimensions of wall-hung toilets

The standard length of a wall-hung toilet bowl is 50–60 cm, width and depth are 30–40 cm. Their dimensions do not differ from floor-mounted structures. For the average human anatomy, this is just fine, but in any case, nothing prevents you from making a custom-sized toilet to order.

Wall-hung toilet option.

Moreover, now modern manufacturers have taken this into account, so they are releasing three varieties of it on the market: small, medium (or compact) and large. They differ from each other in width, and its frames vary depending on the company. There is also a division by length: standard and short (46–48 cm).

However, no matter how sad it may be to hear this, our comfort with you does not always decide everything. Still, you have to make allowances for reality, and in reality everything is decided by the area of the toilet itself. It often happens when the space is so small that even the air freshener seems to take up too much space.

But there are also the opposite cases: some people are so embarrassed by the appearance of the toilet (it’s indecent) that they purchase the smallest size model and bashfully hide it in some farthest corner of a spacious shared bathroom. It looks, to put it mildly, strange.

Installation dimensions

Dimensions of standard block systems:

  • width - 50 cm;
  • depth - 10–15 cm;
  • height - 1 m.

If you, like me, opted for a frame installation, the following parameters will be useful to you:

  • width - 50–60 cm;
  • depth - 15–30 cm;
  • height - 0.8–1.4 m.Installation dimensions.

Look how big the variation is in height. This is due to the fact that sometimes it is necessary to leave free space above the installation, for example, for the same shelves. And then the height depends on how much of this space can be occupied.

Reference! Owners of wooden private houses and cottages are recommended to have low and wide installations to reduce the load on the wall. You can also use floor mounts.

Rules for choosing the dimensions of a wall-hung toilet

Before going to the store, you will have to crawl a little on the floor with a tape measure. You will need to measure the width and length of the toilet (if the bathroom is combined, the space in which you plan to place the toilet). To make cleaning comfortable, and to prevent your knees from resting against a wall or door in front, mentally calculate:

  • what should be the width of the bowl so that at least 25–30 cm remains from the sides to the walls (or other objects);
  • what should be the sum of the installation depth and the length of the bowl so that there is at least 55–60 cm left to the front wall or door.

Important! Do not forget to take into account the length of the sewer pipe coming out of the wall, since you cannot install a toilet closer to it.

Determine for yourself at what height it will be most comfortable for you to sit on the “white throne” so that your knees do not strain and your legs do not hang down.

Wrong toilet size.

As you can see, nothing complicated. You just need to spend a little extra time. After all, if you don’t do this, it may take much more time and effort to redo it.
