What is t con for TVs
One of the most significant elements of innovative LCD panels is T-CON. The T-CON chip ensures that incoming data from the video controller is clearly captured and converted, as well as efficiently distributed across column and row systems.

What is T-CON for TVs
The microcircuit re-encrypts the signals coming from the video controller into signals from the driver control system.
REFERENCE! Such elements make up LCD panels, forming a non-separable module, which virtually eliminates the possibility of maintenance, fault detection and repair work. But at the same time the probability of failure is minimal. Some models are characterized by the availability of electronic systems in the panel, which allows specialists to quickly and professionally restore functionality.
Modern monitors are formed by liquid crystal matrices from a huge number of cells. And it is almost impossible to implement addressing between them. And the only way out in such a situation is multiplexing. This means that all the elements of the picture are located at the intersection of the electrode system. In order to increase the degree of manufacturability of the product and reduce weight and size parameters, the keys are endowed with an integrated design, i.e., they are produced in the form of microcircuits.
The standard module layout looks like this:
Functions and types of T-CON module
The features of such a microcircuit are:
- 6-bit system interface;
- XGA resolution support;
- presence of an input for connecting a phase-locked loop system;
- resistance to electrostatic discharges, the magnitude of which can vary from 2 to 4 kV according to LVDS, depending on the selected model;
- resistance to possible electromagnetic interference.
Main functions:
- Converting information from the LVDS bus (the latest TV models have 2). The module synchronizes with LVDS and re-encrypts incoming data into the RSDS bus.
- Creates the main pulses and signals for the matrix drivers to compose the raster.
- A DC-DC converter is used to provide power to the drivers, a digital-to-analog converter. It is capable of reproducing over 15 voltages.
The main types of T-CON module can be divided depending on their location:
- on a horizontal bar;
- built on an independent board;
- on the motherboard.
The ability to diagnose and carry out repair work may be complicated or impossible due to the inseparability of the microcircuit itself.
