Setting up a smart TV

Today, modern televisions with new Smart TV technology are gaining popularity. It allows you to go online and enjoy watching movies online and chat using the Skype application. But, for Smart TV to work properly, you need to be able to connect and establish a connection correctly.

Smart TV connection

To connect, you can use 2 simple methods: wireless type with Wi-Fi or connecting a TV and router with an Internet cable. It is advisable to determine the method before purchasing a TV.

Cable connection:

Let's start with the cable first. This method, although cumbersome, is simple. One end of the LAN cable just needs to be connected to the Ethernet connector of the TV, the other to an external network modem, and the modem with the Internet port is connected to the wall. Wireless connection:

To connect to Wi-Fi, you need to have a built-in Wi-Fi module in your TV, which will “catch” the Internet from the router. If there is no such module, then you can buy an adapter that connects to a TV or PC. You need to connect it to the USB port of the TV.

First, check that the router is in working order and connected. Next, once you have installed the adapter (you don’t need to do this if the module is built-in), options will appear on the TV, you need to select the desired section and start searching for available Wi-Fi connections.

If you use a computer, there are 2 connection options: HDMI cable and Wi-Fi. If you use a cable connection, there will be no Internet. In this case, the TV will serve as a monitor for showing movies. If you connect through the Wi-Fi setting, the Internet will be available. The connection will be similar to connecting a router (almost the same).

8. A list of applications will appear. Launch one of it. If you want to get more applications, you need to click the “My Apps” button, then select “LG Store”. Then a list of complete applications for your Smart TV will appear.

What to do if you can't connect

Errors may vary. Each malfunction has its own resolution methods and it is impossible to say about exact specific actions that will suit all problems. But you can try the common method.

Again you will need universal Smart TV settings. You need to select “Menu” - “Network” - “Network Settings”. This way, the problem will be automatically resolved.
