How to hide wires from a TV
Modern TVs, light and elegant, can become a real decoration of the room. Due to the fact that they are thin and weigh very little, users very often place them on the wall. However, the appearance can be spoiled by the large number of wires going to the TV receiver, because many different devices are connected to it. This could be a receiver, speaker system, laptop, etc. Here you also need to add the power cable and the wire from the television antenna. There is a need to hide or disguise so many wires.

How to hide TV wires in the wall
One of the simplest options, but quite noisy in implementation and dusty. The course of action will depend on the material from which the surface is made.
Concrete wall
In order to lay a channel under the wires, you will need a hammer drill or grinder.
Execution order:
- first you need to mark the place where the gating will be carried out;
- then make several holes;
- along the line of the future channel, all remnants of building materials are removed with a grinder or hammer drill;
- all existing wires are laid in the resulting groove and connected to the TV - you should check the tension of the wires and, if necessary, adjust the channel;
- the groove must be filled with plaster, which is sold in any building materials store;
- after which the wall must be returned to its previous appearance by finishing.
ATTENTION! It is worth keeping in mind that this option violates the integrity of the wall and is only suitable if the TV will not be moved to another place in the future.
From plasterboard
An easier method to remove cables. However, it will also require a hammer drill or grinder. With their help, you need to make a hole behind the TV and in the place where the wall meets the baseboards. All the wires must be threaded through the first hole to hide them behind a sheet of drywall. The second hole is necessary to connect the cable to the power supply. Among other things, the baseboards will also hide other cords, for example, telephone or Internet cords.
ATTENTION! It is better to use special skirting boards that have cable channels. This will prevent possible mechanical damage to the wires.
Decorating TV wires on the wall
The method is simple and does not require large-scale actions. Why hide wires if they can fit beautifully into the interior? This can be done using the following methods:
- Silicone nozzles. Such nozzles come in different colors, which makes it easy to fit them into any interior. There are shaped options, for example, in the form of a vine. This option will bring originality to the room.
- Use of plants. You can use both live plants and artificial ones. If you use your imagination, you can make them yourself from available materials, such as paper.
- With a well-developed imagination and a sufficient length of wires, you can twist them to create a drawing or abstract pattern on the wall, the main thing is that it fits into the design of the room.
- You can decorate using various stickers or simply wrapping wires around a lamp or vase that stands next to the TV.
Using a box or decorative cable channel
If none of the options is suitable, then you can cover the wires using a special box or decorative cable channel.
Decorative box
This method has a number of advantages:
- the integrity of the wall is maintained;
- installation is extremely simple and takes very little time;
- organic design that will easily fit into any interior;
- This option is completely fireproof.
It is usually made of plastic or metal.
The box is installed as follows:
- First you need to measure the required length;
- fix the box on the wall using self-tapping screws - cuts are made in places where this is necessary;
- After installation, the box can be painted so that it fits better into the interior.
ATTENTION! When choosing a diameter, you need to take into account that all cables must fit freely inside the structure.
These boxes can be selected in accordance with the design of the room.
- Loft. Designs made in the form of brickwork are suitable.
- Classic design. The ideal solution would be panels made of wood or its imitation.
- Modern style, minimalism or hi-tech. You can use metal pipes by securing them to the wall.
Cable channel
Using a cable duct is a fairly quick way to disguise wires. However, the result is not very aesthetically pleasing. You can make such channels yourself or purchase ready-made ones in the store. The most common option presented on the counter is a regular cable channel made of white plastic. At the top of the structure there is a cover that is secured with latches.
The most important thing when installing a cable channel is to choose the right color. It should not blend into the room, but be in the same color scheme. There are channels made of MDF, but it can be very difficult to find them on store shelves. In this case, this option will be an ideal solution, as it will easily fit into the design of the room.
The rarest type is the one made of metal. It has an attractive appearance and will look good in a room designed in minimalist, loft, hi-tech or modern styles.
Hanging wires can greatly spoil the appearance of the room and create a lot of inconvenience. Therefore, it is advisable to hide or decorate them.
