How to remove a TV from a wall bracket

How to remove a TV from a wall bracket

First we need to determine what type of bracket is used in our case. This is an important step; it determines how exactly we will remove the device. There are several types:

1. Inclined. A very convenient view that allows you to raise the device up or lower it down.
2. Tilt-rotary.The device can not only be raised or lowered, but also rotated to the sides.
3. Fixed. Does not allow you to change the position of the device. On the other hand, these are easy to install and cost less than others.
4. Movable. The best view. The device can be placed in any position. They allow you to avoid one of the main disadvantages of mounts - blocking access to the rear panel. On the other hand, such mounts are quite expensive.
5. On the ceiling. From the name it is obvious that the TV will be attached to the ceiling.

To remove the TV you only need a screwdriver. It will be needed to dismantle the bolts that secure the structure. The size of the screwdriver depends on the size of the bolts. You will also need a screwdriver if you need to attach the device in place (the removed bolts will also be needed here). For designs with latches, no improvised means are needed. It is enough to squeeze them out. When the design is without bolts and latches, improvised means are also not required and everything becomes even simpler. You should also prepare in advance a place where you can put the removed device.

The process of removing a TV depends on the type of structure. There are several varieties, and the dismantling process may vary slightly. Most often, the mounts come with instructions that describe how to properly install and how to remove the device. There are also useful tips on how to access the rear panel connectors. Therefore, it is necessary to read the instructions before starting work.

If there are no instructions (it was not included in the kit or was lost somewhere), there is no need to panic. The dismantling process is not difficult. By visually examining it, you can understand the principle of operation.

If the structure is damaged, you need to buy a new one. But you can do it at home, with your own hands. You need basic knowledge in construction and the following tools:

3. Dowels or anchors.
4. Bolts and screws.
5. Level and roulette.

Removing the TV from the bracket: step by step

The device is removed as follows:

1. Turn off the device.
2. Disconnect it from the network.
3. You can start removing it. The design consists of several parts: the fastener itself, bolts (anchors or dowels) and special strips (screws). Most bracket models have two screws (right and left). The bracket has grooves for attaching clamps or latches. If bolts are used for fixation, they must be unscrewed. If there are latches, press them out.
4. We lift the TV and remove it from the structure on the wall.

7. The device has been removed. To secure it, you need to do all the steps in reverse order.
8. If we need to remove the structure itself, we need to unscrew the fasteners that secure it to the wall.

Note! The bolts are most often located at the top of the TV or in the middle. The latches are on the bottom of the bar.
