How to enable 3D on TV
There are several ways to enable 3D on your TV:
- This method does not require the installation of additional equipment. Many modern TV models are able to recognize the innovative format and automatically switch to movie viewing mode. Depending on the TV model, adjustments may be required.
- Purchase and connect 3D Blu-ray. The advantage of this method is that the player is able to accept all modern video formats (including ISO images).
- Another way is to connect your computer to your TV. The latter will serve as a monitor. It is important that your computer has a powerful graphics card, otherwise it will not be able to process 3D Blu-ray images. You also need 2 GB of RAM, and a certain amount of free space on your hard drive (during the viewing process, operations are performed that temporarily take up disk space). Their size depends on the size of the film itself.
- The latter method requires the presence of a modern device. Some companies (for example, LG) make models that support 3D without installing additional equipment. The difference from the first method is that no configuration is needed.Just press the appropriate button on the remote control and you can watch the movie.
Is it possible to watch 3D on a regular TV?
Yes, you can use a simple TV, but it must meet some requirements:
- Good screen extension.
- High image refresh rate (not lower than 120 Hz).
- Availability of additional devices.
How to connect equipment for 3D viewing
There are several ways to watch movies in this innovative format.
First way
If your TV supports 3D without any additional equipment, but you need to configure it, you can do it as follows:
- You need to download an MKV conversion program from the Internet and convert it to the appropriate format.
- The film is loaded onto a portable storage device (for example, a flash drive). You need to choose the appropriate volume to fit the film (licensed versions can take up a lot of space). But at the same time, the TV may have a storage capacity limitation (usually 32 GB and above).
- The flash drive connects to the TV.
- It is necessary to enable 3D mode (in modern models it turns on independently).
- You can watch a movie.
Note! This method does not require additional devices due to the file format. Usually modern devices are able to read the MKV format. This method is convenient if you do not have a computer or 3D player. If the TV cannot accept files of this format, one of the listed devices is necessary.
Second way
The second method is using additional equipment (3D Blu-ray player). To do this you need:
- Buy a player.
- Find the HDMI connector on the TV. We connect the equipment to it.
- If there are power issues, problems may arise in the process of connecting external drives to the ports.
- Download the movie. We load it onto a portable drive.
- We connect the flash drive.
- We are watching a movie.
Note! When purchasing a player, you need to make sure that it supports modern file formats (at least ISO images). Some devices only accept Blu-ray discs. They are very expensive.
Third way
The third way is to connect a computer to the device. For this:
- Checking the computer's characteristics. If there are not enough of them, the files will not play.
- Install the downloaded movie on your computer. It needs to be installed. DAEMON Tools or Alcohol programs are suitable for this.
- Now we need to download the player program. You will need it to play movies on your computer. The following programs work well: Stereoscopic Player and CyberLink PowerDVD Ultra 12.
- Connect the computer to the HDMI connector.
- You need to wait some time. The computer will detect the new device and install the necessary drivers on its own (this will take less than a minute).
- Set the 3D mode on the player.
- You can watch the selected movie.
Fourth method
The last way is to buy a modern device that supports 3D, without players. Also, they do not require configuration (as in the first method).
The user may not like the quality of the movie he is watching. The problem is not that the image is bad, but that we don't like it. In this case, you need to refer to the settings. Go to the menu, “Screen” tab. There we find the line “3D Settings”. We will be presented with several modes to choose from. We use the one we like.
