Types and principle of operation of wireless headphones
The division of wireless headphones by type is based on the method of signal transmission from the source:
- with a carrier frequency of up to 800 MHz - the signal is transmitted unhindered in the VHF range within a radius of up to 8 meters, frequency range 86–106 MHz, powered by AAA batteries;
- infrared radiation operating within line of sight;
- Bluetooth (bluetooth) – radio waves in the range 2.4 – 2.4835 GHz;
- Wi-Fi is a data transmission technology according to the IEEE 802.11 standard at a frequency of 2.4 GHz.
Signal transmission from a TV receiver, smartphone, tablet, laptop, computer and other equipment to headphones (headset) is mainly carried out under the control of the Bluetooth system.
The convenience of using a wireless headset is obvious. The absence of wires allows you to receive audio content at any distance without disturbing others.
ATTENTION! However, using a wireless headset also has its disadvantages. The sound quality is worse than with a cable; batteries are required, which need to be charged from time to time or the batteries changed.
It should be noted that different types of headsets have additional functions and capabilities that improve the quality of their use. This:
- connection using a cable - if there is no power in the headset;
- presence of a microphone;
- noise suppression;
- program switching control;
- volume control and some others.
How to connect headphones to TV
Currently, televisions of various types and brands and different years of manufacture are in use. Connecting a wireless headset to a particular TV model may differ. TV receivers of recent years have USB connectors. The signal is transmitted using an audio signal transmitter inserted into the USB connector. The connection comes down to the following:
- Use the menu to activate Bluetooth.
- Turn on the headset.
- Activate it using the menu.
Early TVs do not have a USB connector, but are equipped with a composite analog output (two sockets, white and red) and a 3.5 mm jack for connecting wired headphones. Connection to such models is carried out using an adapter plugged into the analog connectors. The adapter's transmitter emits a radio signal that is picked up by the headphone receiver.
ATTENTION! Before buying wireless headphones for your TV, you need to make sure it has a Bluetooth system. It is not available on all TVs. If it is not available, you will need to buy an adapter along with the headphones.
Bluetooth adapters are available in two types - for one pair of headphones and for two. The first type of adapter, in addition to the transmitter, also has a receiver that allows you to receive signals from all nearby radio-electronic devices equipped with a Bluetooth module - smartphones, stereo systems, TVs, etc.Two pairs of wireless headphones can be connected to the TV via Bluetooth transmitters.
Wirelessly connecting a headset to a TV is a useful invention of mankind that helps bring comfort to everyone. A person watching TV can easily leave the room for a cup of coffee, tea or other needs, while continuing to listen to music, movie soundtracks and, most importantly, a football report.
