What to do if water gets into your TV
Water is the enemy of electrical appliances, and the TV is no exception. Moisture getting on the internal elements of the circuit can cause serious damage.

If water gets into the TV
Modern models of plasma panels are sensitive to moisture. Important elements, tracks and connections, are located along the bottom line of the case, and drops of liquid, flowing down, disrupt the normal operation of the device. The technician can revive the equipment in case of minor damage, so it is very important if moisture gets inside the case to deliver it to a service workshop as quickly as possible.
What danger can this pose?
Liquid getting inside the LCD TV can cause the following problems:
- stains on the screen that cannot be removed by simply wiping (with a large amount of moisture, the stains take on an inky tint);
- blurred image;
- dots, ripples, multi-colored stripes on the screen;
- spontaneous switching on and off of the device.
What to do
Only a specialist can determine exactly how to correct interference in operation caused by liquid getting under the housing.
If moisture has formed on the board, the technician resolders the damaged circuit.
Attention! In case of damage to the matrix controllers, a specialist resolders the copper conductors. If the controllers are completely destroyed, they are replaced.
If water has destroyed the conductor loops, then the repair involves a complete replacement of the matrix. Most often, in this situation, it is financially more profitable to purchase a new device.
Can I use the TV
Regardless of how the liquid was spilled inside (wipe the case, screen with a wet rag, or accidentally spill the liquid), remember: the TV must be disconnected from the power supply as soon as possible and not used until the problem is resolved.
To avoid a short circuit, it is important that all damaged elements dry thoroughly (not a drop of liquid remains inside). The drying process takes on average three days. You can speed up the process if you install the device on a loggia under the sun's rays.
Attention! If moisture gets into a working TV, it is strictly forbidden to take the cord with bare, wet hands or wipe off the water without turning off the power to the device. If you ignore this rule, there is a high risk of getting an electric shock.
If, when water gets inside the device, smoke comes out from under the housing, do not even try to turn it on again after drying. Only a service center technician can help revive equipment damaged by water.
That's for sure
I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHERE THE WATER IS COME FROM UNDER THE TV. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. IT'S WET AT THE VERY BASE OF THE ANTENNA CABLE AND THERE IS WATER NEAR THE TV AND UNDER THE STAND. JUST SOME POLTERGEIST.
