Do-it-yourself branch chopper from an angle grinder

Any summer resident or owner of a country house with a garden knows about the problem of recycling plant waste. Not so long ago, a device became popular - a branch chopper. He has quite simple device, so folk craftsmen never tire of coming up with options on how to make it with their own hands, using different bases. One of the most popular options floating around the Internet is a grinder grinder. Let's look at the stages of its production.

What you need for a DIY shredder

In addition to the main element - the grinder - you need:

• 2 sheets of metal 4–5 mm thick, measuring 30 by 15 cm;
• drill;
• jigsaw;
• studs and nuts for fixation;
• trimmer disc;
• welding machine;
• steel cylinder - the blank can be made from part of the body of a fire extinguisher;
• a small piece of pipe 10 cm in diameter;
• thin metal tube.

Stages of manufacturing a grinder-based grinder

The entire process of creating a useful device for crushing branches is represented by the following list of steps:

In one of the metal sheets in the center we mark a circle - approximately 5.5 cm.

Then use a drill in a circle to make many holes. Using a jigsaw, cut out the center.

Holding the sheet in a vice, use a sanding attachment on a drill to sand the inner edges of the circle. Next to the cut out center we mark and make 4 holes with a 6 mm drill - they are needed to attach the plate to the grinder.

We fix the sheet on the angle grinder.

We strengthen the fastening with the help of two eyes cut from another piece of metal, and we weld or bolt them to the angle grinder.

We take a 4-blade disk intended for a trimmer and cut off the excess fragments - as in the photo;

We sharpen the elongated blades of the angle grinder disk. A little away from the center, along the long edge of the plate, cut out a hole in the form of a rectangle.

We place the disk in the center of the structure and screw it on.

We take a cylinder prepared from a fire extinguisher and place a structure made of an angle grinder and a disk on it.

First we weld it, and then two plates cut from another sheet of metal - as in the photo.

We cut off the parts of the metal plates protruding beyond the edges of the cylinder and grind these places.

Now the prepared piece of pipe needs to be welded to the made rectangular hole.

From a round tube we cut three identical parts - for the legs. We prepare and fix it - as in the photo.
