Reasons why a manual garden sprayer failed: it doesn’t spray, it doesn’t pump

Most often, owners of hand sprayers encounter the following problems:

1. Leak. It's quite easy to recognize. Liquid leakage may occur in the area of ​​the connection valves or hose. It is necessary to stop working with such equipment. If the model provides this function, only internal pressure should be ensured using a safety valve. Each connecting section is equipped with a gasket or O-ring. Over time, they become deformed, crack, and weaken. The result is a leak.
2. Clogging. Over time, small particles of dirt and soil clog the parts of the sprayer. Especially if equipment is not thoroughly cleaned after use. If spraying is blocked, then one of the structural parts is clogged. It is enough to clean the unit and run water through it.
3. No pressure. Most sprayer models are equipped with pumps that create internal pressure. Sometimes you can notice that the equipment does not spray liquid - water pours out of it in a stream or the pressure has decreased. This problem is related to bad blood pressurecaused by cracks in the pump components or wear of the gasket.

You can use a garden hose to clean the equipment. A strong pressure of water is supplied through it, clearing the clogged area. But the preferred method of eliminating the problem is to clean the problem area with a fine needle or “blow.” These options are more gentle.

Mechanical damage to parts also leads to breakdowns. Such reasons cannot always be eliminated on your own. It all depends on the degree of damage. The sprayer uses not only water, but also various solutions. Some of them can corrode parts of the unit and will therefore need to be replaced.

They start by finding the problem. First you need to find out what exactly led to the deterioration of the garden device. The inventory is then carefully disassembled into its assembled parts.

If the cause of the malfunction is a blockage, then it is necessary to clean the problem area. This can be done using a thin needle and strong water pressure. Or use a small hand pump.

When the problem is in the gasket, it is simply replaced with a new one. Additionally, you can use silicate sealant to improve sealing. The resulting crack is repaired using a special glue for plastic.

In some situations, it is permissible to replace the sprayer with a new one if the defect is too serious and the model itself is cheap. It will be more profitable to purchase another unit.
