How to level a site with a walk-behind tractor?
If the slope in the area is small and only a few degrees, leveling is not so important. However, everything changes when work is planned to build a house, lay a path or plant a lawn.
This is not only the aesthetic side of the issue - problems can begin after construction.
What is the danger of not leveling the landscape?
When intending to landscape a garden or build a house, you should think about leveling the site, as a number of problems arise:
- Unevenness creates a load on different parts of the foundation, contributing to its rapid destruction.
- On a slope there are certain construction difficulties.
- A road paved during beautification easily falls into disrepair.
- Precipitation and snow melting lead to the washing of the upper layers of soil into the lowlands and the accumulation of excess moisture there.
When planting a lawn or creating a flower garden, all irregularities become very visible. Smooth grass highlights defects. In addition, lawn mixtures rarely take root on uneven areas.
Leveling with a walk-behind tractor under the lawn
The procedure itself consists of several stages.Preparation for leveling will be a labor-intensive process. It includes:
- Appeal to land surveyors who can measure the groundwater level and give advice on raising a certain corner of the plot in order to level the garden.
- Clearing the area from beds, weeds and debris right down to the road.
- Dividing the land into equal nine parts. Mark the boundaries with pegs and tie ropes.
Use a walk-behind tractor to level out small uneven areas. To do this, the pegs are installed at a distance of a meter from each other. Depths weeding a walk-behind tractor enough to lift the top layer of soil.
After processing, large clods of earth are broken up with shovels or rakes; you can use a special attachment to the device. Next, leave the area for a couple of weeks so that the loosened soil settles and the remaining defects become visible to the naked eye.
Then the area is again traversed with a walk-behind tractor, leveled manually with rakes and shovels, and then covered with a layer of fertile soil. This is necessary for soil renewal and high-quality growth of cultivated crops.
If there is a slope, they act in the same way. After loosening and leveling the soil and removing the top layer, you will need to order a certain amount of fertile soil. It can be poured into a low area or distributed throughout the site, creating a unique landscape design with an alpine slide.
