Which plow is best for a walk-behind tractor?

Previously, the plow was a separate and large device. With its help, the soil was prepared for upcoming plantings. Today it is an attachment for walk-behind tractor, modernized and maximally productive for specific purposes.

Which plow to choose for a walk-behind tractor?

The device is a device with three planes. One of them is dump, the second is horizontal, the third is vertical. The last two are located at an angle of 90 degrees.

Experts note the importance of the size of the cutting edge. Its edge should be located in the same plane as the edge of the blade. In this case, the protrusion distance of both is equal to one centimeter.

After use, the plow must be cleaned, removing clods of soil and dirt. Then they are thoroughly lubricated with oil and placed in a special case or box. This is the only way to protect the product from corrosion.

Types of plows

For the manufacture of equipment, a special material is used that can withstand incredible loads during further operation.

  1. Single-hull. Suitable for processing soft soil previously prepared for planting. Their advantage is ease of assembly and lightness of design. According to the technical characteristics, more than one share is not provided here.
  2. Double-hulled. They also work on hard ground, except rocky soil. They cope with the formation of furrows for planting, hilling up plants, and clearing the area of weeds.
  3. Dump. Designed for small areas.Their peculiarity lies in the special arrangement of the ploughshare. It not only turns the earth over, but also loosens it, making it soft and fluffy.
  4. Dumpless. They are more often used in large areas in agricultural activities.
  5. Reversible. Used on difficult soils. They are distinguished by the rapid turning of the soil as soon as the plow lifts its layers. For this purpose, the feather is made of a special material and is located at an acute angle.
  6. Rotary. More like a cultivator. Several plowshares are installed on one axis; they have a curved shape and lift the soil, loosening it. The processing depth is 300 mm.
  7. Disk. Able to work on wet soil, but have shallow impact.

When choosing attachments and a plow, many factors are taken into account: the power and strength of the walk-behind tractor, the volume of the area being built and its characteristics, as well as the tasks that will have to be solved using the attachment. Rotary plows are most often used for domestic use.
