DIY saw hoe
Every gardener or gardener - both professional and amateur - knows that without choppers It will not be possible to start a single planting season. Using this universal device, you can plow the ground, remove weeds and further care for crops.
Such a tool is relatively inexpensive. But when it breaks, and you can’t get a new one yet, you have to make some hoe from what is at hand. One of the best bases for the working part of the device will be a hacksaw blade. This material will withstand any load and will not wear out for a long time.
Homemade chopper from a saw
The homemade process looks like this:
- a part of the required size is sawn off - 25 cm;
- take a wood saw, which is no longer needed, and use an angle grinder to make a cut towards the teeth, maintaining an angle of 45 degrees;
- then three holes are drilled for fixation - there should be the same distance between them;
- the same number of holes need to be made in the metal corner with shelves;
- the holder is fixed - for this, take a metal pipe with thick walls with a circumference of 2.5–3 cm and a length of 25–30 cm;
- Taking a hammer, hammer one side 5 cm;
- The angle can be firmly established if you drill two holes;
- we get a finished canvas with teeth, now we fix the cutting - you can choose any tree for it;
- Using sandpaper or a sharp knife, cut the stalk from one edge and insert it into the pipe;
- to secure the handle tightly, a nail is driven into both the metal and wooden parts;
- Now you should remove the teeth, because they are not needed in this tool - take a grinder and level the surface of the hoe.
Some people prefer to leave the teeth: it is believed that with them the homemade product will cope better with wet soil.
Simple manipulations will allow you to get a tool for effective work from scrap materials.
