How to make a rake with your own hands?

Corner parameters: 35*35 mm. The length depends on the intended work. Approximately 60–70 cm is considered optimal. Next, cut a strip of metal along the entire width of one shelf. Its width is about 15 mm. On the other shelf we cut off the same strips, but from the edge on both sides.

There should be a protrusion in the center so that you can then weld the handle fastening.

Next, you need to clean the surface of the corner from rust.Particular attention is paid to the welding site where the profile pipe will be fixed. We cut the teeth of the future rake from a strip of metal. Their height is approximately 7–8 cm. We first weld the pipe for the holder, and then the teeth.

All that remains is to buy or make your own wood cutting of a suitable diameter and insert it into the welded mount on the base of the tool.

DIY fan rake

This type of equipment is intended for cleaning the area and eliminating weeds in the beds. Their advantage is the ability to adjust the working width, as well as flexibility. You only need a few elements to create a similar version of a garden tool.

1. We take a metal pipe with a diameter of 25 mm. Its length is about 30 mm.
2. Using a hammer, flatten the workpiece. To ensure the correct shape, we recommend placing a thick metal plate inside.
3. Next, we take old bicycle spokes and cut off the caps from them.
4. We place the workpiece inside and seal the top hole.
5. We distribute the knitting needles so that they open like a fan.
6. Take a metal plate 15 mm thick, 20 mm wide and about 33 cm long.
7. We make even holes in it at a distance of 15 mm from each other, focusing on the number of inserted rods.
8. We bend it in an arc and put it on prepared bicycle spokes, inserting each into a separate hole.
9. We weld the fastening of the handle from the profile pipe.
10. Bend the ends with pliers. Height is about three centimeters.

The base for the fan rake is ready. All that remains is to pick up the cutting.
