- The weather conditions are not terrible. A special stand under the bottom and a lid protect against suddenly bad weather.
- Products are placed in a container or placed on spikes - there is no need to turn them over.

Types of tandoors
Historically, the first ovens were dug into the ground.More precisely, they were made in a pit, covering its walls with clay. Such devices did not last long, so other, more practical structures began to appear.
Today, several types of tandoors are offered:
- Zemlyanoy is a finished stove dug into the ground or a hole with smooth walls, which is coated with fireclay clay from the inside. Traction is provided by burying a wide pipe nearby at an angle of 45 degrees. Such braziers retain heat best and sometimes serve as a way to heat a home.
- Ground stationary. It is installed on a pedestal about a meter from the ground. The draft is provided by the presence of a side hole from which the coals are removed. Such a furnace can be vertical or horizontal. As a rule, large braziers are made in the courtyard of a private house.
- Portable. Modern and attractive look of tandoor. It is made of refractory clay and features a forged tray and handles for easy portability. Such a structure can be moved around the yard and brought into the house if necessary. The exhaust is carried out due to a hole made at the bottom of the device, from where the coals are unloaded.
These are the three main varieties that a person pays attention to if he is planning to build a tandoor for himself.
How to choose a tandoor?
For fans of classics and authenticity, a stationary stove with original decorated walls and a well-designed air duct will be proud. Guests and residents of the house will be delighted with the dishes prepared in it.
To get an original taste, choose wood-burning tandoors. This way the products turn out baked, juicy and tasty, and also retain their beneficial properties despite heat treatment at high temperatures.
If you plan to cook for a small company or family, purchase a mobile tandoor (medium or large). It will be enough to occasionally please your family with juicy meat or classic samsa. For stationary devices, larger sizes are usually selected.
When purchasing, pay attention to the following points:
- Wall thickness The principle “bigger is better” applies here.
- Neck width. It is much easier when the diameter is large, but commensurate with the parameters of the furnace.
- Accessories. Think in advance about what dishes you will cook in the oven. The metal braid must be at least 4 mm thick to prevent destruction of the tandoor walls.
- Finish with glaze on the outside, otherwise the clay easily absorbs moisture.
- Blower. A single hole device is recommended; other models are difficult to use.
