How to use tea bags when washing dishes
Office workers came up with the idea of using used tea leaves when washing dishes. Office bathrooms often lack hot water and liquid soap or dish detergent. It is not possible to wash plates covered with grease. It was then that we tried to use used disposable tea bags. They effectively remove grease and dirt, washing plates and mugs to a shine.
Important! Bags and pyramids can be easily dried on a radiator or simply on a windowsill in the sun, put in a closed box and taken out when necessary.
Instead of dish detergent
Often, simple soap or other means cannot get rid of dirt the first time. When using tea bags, you need to follow a certain algorithm of actions.
- Fill dirty dishes with warm water.
- Add a few used tea bags to the water.
- Leave for a while.
- Rinse under running warm water.
“Re-brewed” tea leaves can break down the remains of stuck food, remove grease and dirt. The housewife will only have to rinse the dishes with warm water.
To remove residual grease before washing
Many housewives will agree with me that washing dishes covered in grease is a very unpleasant task. The dense substance quickly covers not only the plate, but also the sponge, hands and sink. It is very difficult to get rid of it.
The experience of generations suggests that disposable infuser pyramids allow you to quickly deal with stuck-on fat. Before washing dishes, it is enough to simply wet them and collect the fat that they literally absorb. Tea bags act as a sponge, it is environmentally friendly and very convenient. After washing, the bags can be safely thrown into the trash.
To remove rust from dishes
An old tea bag will also come in handy to deal with rust. It is necessary to fill the dishes with hot water and place several tea bags in the improvised bath. Leave for at least a couple of hours, preferably overnight.
In the morning, the rust can be easily washed off with a damp sponge and your usual cleaning product.
Other uses for tea bags in the kitchen
You can use tea leaves for more than just washing dishes. They have a wide range of applications in the kitchen.
For cleaning glass surfaces
The bags need to be brewed with boiling water again and the cooled liquid must be poured into a spray bottle. A weak solution of tea cleans glass and mirrors better than any chemicals.
For cleaning parquet and laminate flooring
An ideal eco-friendly floor cleaner. Removes dirt well. The only drawback is the colored stains, but they can be easily removed by wiping the freshly washed floor with a dry cloth.
To get rid of unpleasant odors in the refrigerator
Dried tea bags are placed on the shelves of the refrigerator. They absorb all unpleasant odors, and if necessary, they are easy to replace with new ones.
As a seasoning for cereals and pasta dishes
The pyramid needs to be thrown into water, boiled, and before adding the pasta, remove the bags.
To get rid of fish and garlic odors
To prevent your hands from smelling like fish or garlic after preparing dinner, wipe them with a damp tea bag.
Every housewife is free to choose her own cleaning products, but the tea leaves used are captivating due to their environmental friendliness and affordability. You don’t have to buy expensive chemicals that can harm the health of your household.
All this is wonderful, but... I basically don’t drink tea with bags. Only custard leaf. There is no good tea in bags.
