What types of circles are there?

Tea fans know how important it is which mug you drink from! It would seem that it’s just a container, but sometimes you attach so much importance when choosing this product. It’s a little surprising, but mugs of different volumes, materials and shapes reveal the taste of the drink, its aroma and richness in completely different ways.

At first glance, it seems that all the models are not very different from each other, except in design and volume, but, let’s say, there are many types of mugs, and therefore it is important to know that they differ not only in colorful designs and milliliter capacity - there are also unusual ones options, and even slightly strange ones.

Types of mugs

First of all, it is worth noting that a mug is a hollow product that is shaped like a truncated cone or cylinder. Ordinary her capacity — 250–500 ml. And first of all, they are classified according to the material of manufacture, and then according to all other parameters.

Material of manufacture

The mug can be:

  • Glass. Quite a popular option today. They look very stylish, there is a huge variety of choice with bright prints, designs or simply transparent (which is also good!), but the tea in it will cool down quickly. However, this is only a plus if the product is used, for example, at work.
  • Ceramics. The main advantage is the environmental friendliness of the material and the ability to retain the desired warmth of the drink for a long time. The disadvantages are fragility and an “acute” response to temperature fluctuations.
  • Porcelain. A favorite among materials for making tableware for various purposes, and mugs are no exception! They look especially impressive in the service, and the tea ceremony takes place in a different solemn atmosphere. What is the secret of this effect is completely unclear, but the main thing is that porcelain mugs have not lost their popularity for many decades.
  • Tree. More of a creative variety than an everyday one. However, if you are a fan of eco-living, then this is definitely your option. Some types of wood can even have a positive effect on the gastrointestinal tract, and therefore, drinking a cup of tea from a wooden mug, you can not only enjoy the drink, but also improve your health.
  • Aluminum. The advantage of such a product is its lightness. But it is also quite durable, although it can be slightly deformed from strong impacts. Its price is very affordable, you can even use it on fire. All this together makes aluminum mugs an excellent attribute for hiking and outdoor trips.
  • Plastic. Essentially hazardous material. The plastic mug will have to be thrown away after a year of use. In addition, when purchasing, you need to pay attention to the label: “PETE” means the presence of polyethylene terephthalate, which is excellent for food purposes.

Volume

As mentioned above, the optimal capacity is 250-500 ml. For home use, containers with a volume of 200-250 ml are suitable. In an office, the ideal option would be 230-270 ml, and in a coffee shop it is desirable to have models that are combined with the concept of a particular establishment.

But there are also lovers of large mugs. Such products can hold not only 500 ml, but also 600 and 700. It all depends on the person, his tastes and preferences.

Form

The mug, which looks like a glass, has a slightly elongated body, so at a significant height it holds little liquid. Pial-shaped is distinguished by a spherical shape, which is slightly narrowed downward. The larger the volume, the correspondingly wider the product.

Purpose

In the classical concept, a mug is a cylindrical vessel, complemented by a comfortable handle. But there are other containers that have the same name, but bear little resemblance to the version we are used to.

Thermal mug

Able to effectively maintain temperature conditions. This is its main difference from a regular mug. If we consider this option from the point of view of its similarity to a simple thermos, then the thermal mug is much smaller, which allows you to hold it with one hand. These models are convenient to take for a walk, to school or the gym.

Chameleon

They are extremely popular not only among teenagers, but also among adults, regardless of gender and age. The main feature of this invention is that it changes its color under the influence of temperature. For example, when heated, a plain mug can transform and some kind of drawing, photo or inscription will appear.

With blender

It has a built-in micromotor-mixer that runs on batteries. This allows the contents to be thoroughly mixed. For example, coffee with cream or sports protein shakes.

You can pour any liquid into it: compotes and jelly, juices, decoctions, tea, coffee, milk.

Pythagoras mug

A unique invention that the ancient Greek philosopher, mathematician and mystic came up with for slaves. The idea was that all slaves would drink the same, since there was little water on Samos. The second name is the Fair Cup. It is a special container that can only be filled to a certain level. If a person tries to add more water, it pours out completely.
