Keep it and don't throw it away: five types of dangerous utensils
Sometimes we don’t even think that some things we have at home can be hazardous to health. For example, this applies to a mercury thermometer (danger if broken), carpets with long pile (if you don’t clean it, dust mites live quite happily there), old feather pillows (also different bugs and mites) and many others that at first glance They seem quite harmless to us.
But we practically don’t think about the fact that the utensils that we often use to prepare various dishes can also pose a danger, although this, of course, should not be done. We present to you a stop list of types of dishes that you need to get rid of so as not to endanger your health.

Non-stick coating on cookware manufactured before 2010
The television space of that time incessantly insisted that thanks to this dishware, your most familiar dishes would turn out almost a million times tastier, more aromatic and richer. Advertisements for non-stick frying pans have simply clouded the minds of thousands of people across the country.
However, a little later it turned out that perfluorooctanoic acid, which was part of the composition, is not so harmless to humans. True, in the advertising, of course, not a word was said about this. But as soon as this fact was discovered, the use of such kitchen utensils was prohibited by law.
Today, ceramics or titanium are used as non-stick coatings - this is already quite safe, so there is no need to worry about your health.
Porcelain from the USSR
No one would have ever thought that grandma's dinnerware could be dangerous. But there is a nuance here too. The standards for making tableware at that time did not quite reach those of today, and therefore on the cups and plates that you inherited from the USSR, you can find cadmium and lead used for glazing.
When heated, these substances become toxic and therefore pose a danger to humans. If you still have at least one copy in your sideboard, then it’s better not to use it.
Handmade pottery
You can hardly expect anything bad from ceramic products, because pottery has been known for centuries. But the problem is that it is not the clay itself that is dangerous, but the paint used to decorate cups, plates, and ceramic pots. Since the design is often applied at the last stage of production, it is not surprising that over time the coating peels off, and this may not be noticed.
No one knows what they covered with it, but once in the body, these particles are unlikely to bring any benefit.
Aluminum cookware
Essentially, if your aluminum frying pan is coated with a non-stick layer, then there is no risk - it is not dangerous. But aluminum in its pure form should be treated with caution. This metal tends to accumulate in the body, and therefore you should not cook soup in an aluminum pan.
Damaged silicone mold
Yes, these modern things are also not so harmless, but only if some form is damaged (tear, crack, scratch) or, even worse, has melted a little. All you have to do is leave the silicone in the oven, and you’re faced with a real enemy—dishes that poison your body with toxins.
There is no problem with a completely intact form.
Be sure to inspect your cookware and determine which ones need replacing. You should not save money on the health of yourself and your loved ones.
Well, what did our grandparents get sick from when they ate food from porcelain and earthenware? And how many were sick then, and how many are now? And what diseases were common then, and what are they now? How many people, say, in Khrushchev’s times, knew about, for example, the disease allergy, I’m not asking - how many suffered from this disease? Ticks, you say? Well, your child played on a super-sterile carpet, the body accordingly did not develop immunity against ticks, grew up, went outside for a walk - AND THERE! And in the air, and on the ground, and on any surface! So “don’t forget about masks and gloves” - and CORONAVIRUS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT!!!
Complete bullshit. Damaged silicone is dangerous! How? Does it have a special coating? In this case, silicone dishes, molds, mats, even new ones are dangerous. Ceramic coatings can be considered no less dangerous, since ceramics begin to crack almost immediately after use. And where there are cracks there are microbes and dirt residues and unwashed detergent. Overall, a hell of a mixture. I also fell for it and bought an expensive ceramic frying pan. After half a year of light use, the entire inner surface became covered with a fine mesh of cracks and had to be thrown away. Nothing better than cast iron has yet been invented.
yeah, throw everything away urgently, and run to Ikea for dishes, just come to our Ikea.. hurry up
Bullshit!
