Removing parquet boards
Parquet is a fairly strong and durable coating. But even this can be damaged. If repair is not possible, the product will have to be completely dismantled.

The process of dismantling parquet boards
There are several reasons when it is necessary to remove parquet:
- The floors are constantly creaking.
- The room was flooded.
- Fungus or mold has appeared in the dies.
- There were insects under the material.
- He looks very bad externally.
- You just need to install a new coating.
- Damage to the product.
During withdrawal, the following factors are taken into account:
- Type of coverage.
- What material is it made of?
- Fastenings.
- What is the floor made of?
The process of removing the floor itself is divided into 3 stages:
- Removing the parquet itself. It is considered the most difficult stage.
- Removing the substrate, as well as the materials on which the material was (for example, plywood).
- Cleaning the concrete screed from debris and dirt.
What tools will you need?
To remove you need the following tools:
- Chisel. Necessary for prying up boards.
- Scrap. Also helps with prying.
- Hammer.
- Nail puller (removes nails).
- Axe.
- Bulgarian.
- Staple (for removing debris).
- Hairdryer (if glue was used for installation, the air flow will soften it).
Step-by-step dismantling process
Parquet consists of a large number of small boards. The installation process, as well as dismantling, will take a lot of time, since each plank must be removed separately. And if the material has been glued to the base, it becomes even more difficult to dismantle it.
Attention! It is rarely removed manually; it is better to use a scraping device (you can rent it). It simply separates the parquet.
If you choose the manual method, you need tools. We do the following:
- We knock on individual boards. If a hollow sound occurs, these boards will be easier to remove than others. Let's start with them.
- First, remove the nails. If glue is used, the material is pryed off with a tool (use a hair dryer to dissolve the glue).
- After removal, we remove all construction debris.
The removal process cannot be called difficult. It rather takes a lot of time, since each board needs to be worked on separately.
