How to make a carpet with your own hands 

In order to create a small rug you will not need to spend much time. Don't worry about the fact that you have no experience in performing such processes, everything can be learned. The main thing is to stock up on the necessary materials and inspiration. 

A rug made by yourself will not only become an interior decoration; imagine how pleasant it will be to admire it, because you will make it yourself. To work, you will need to prepare the following materials and tools: 

• Hook, choose a large number. 
• Yarn of a suitable color. 
• The mesh on which you will form the mat. 
• Scissors. 

ADVICE. It is better to choose thicker yarn, so it will be more convenient for you to work. 

Having prepared the necessary materials, you can begin weaving. 

Do-it-yourself carpet made from yarn

First of all, you will need to decide on a knitting pattern. You can choose any image: floral motifs, cartoon characters, abstraction.  

IMPORTANT. It is worth understanding that knitting a rug with a pattern is not so easy, so choose a simpler image. 

To ensure that the finished product does not lose its shape, it is better to use a dense base.

ADVICE.When choosing a thread, you need to focus on its characteristics. For example, for a bathroom it is better to choose a synthetic material, but for a bedroom, natural wool thread is perfect. 

Features of crochet on mesh: 

• To start working, you need to insert the hook into the cell, from top to bottom. 
• From the reverse side you need to grab the thread, pull it out and pass it through the loop on the hook. 
• It is better to start working from the outer edge and then tie the mesh around the perimeter. Gradually move towards the center. 
• There is another way of knitting. Work in vertical or horizontal rows. 

Be prepared for the fact that you will have to spend more than one evening doing this exciting activity, but it will be worth it. Be patient and the result will certainly please you. 

ADVICE. To make the work more fun, prepare the threads in advance. Cut them into pieces of the same size. In order not to spend a lot of time on this, wind the yarn on cardboard of the required size and simply cut the thread at both edges.  

If necessary, trim the length of the pile using scissors.

The back side of the product turns out very neat, it’s just knots. You can leave everything as is, or you can cover the base with a piece of thick fabric. To do this, simply glue it. 

You can also use a similar pattern to make a rug from yarn, not from individual elements, but from pompoms. You must first make the required number of balls. Then just tie them to the grid. As a result, you will end up with a very unusual and interesting product that will certainly become a real decoration for your home.
