What is deck laminate installation?

There are many types of installation of this material. The most common is deck. There are two reasons for this:

• simplest;
• the most economical.

During different types of installation, excess material has to be cut off. In the deck type, waste constitutes the smallest part. This method is also the simplest, because it does not require labor-intensive measurements and adjustments. What is he like? The deck layout looks like this:

Deck laying of laminate occurs in such a way that the material is laid out along the wall so that each board of the next row lies exactly at the level of half the board of the previous one. This method has long established itself as the simplest and most economical, so you can definitely trust it. In addition, it creates a simple but beautiful picture on the floor.

What type of fastening is it suitable for?

There are two types of fastening. The method and type of installation depends on this indicator. Each type of fastening implies the presence of a groove on one element and a tenon on the other. The only difference is their appearance and method of connection.

• Cry. Quite a simple connection method. So named because of the characteristic sound during connection. For installation you only need the components and your own hands. Installation proceeds as follows: install the first board, then bring the next one at an angle of 45 degrees, insert it into the groove and snap it into place. If necessary, you can tap the board with the back of your hand.

• Lock. The next method is somewhat more complicated than the previous one. It also assumes the presence of a groove and a tenon. Only they are slightly different. If in the first version the groove is adjusted so that the tenon fits into it easily, then this is a tight connection. Therefore, for installation you will additionally need a rubber mallet. Pproceeds as follows: the boards are laid sequentially, then you need to precisely adjust their position, then insert the tenon into the groove and hit the board with a mallet so that the tenon fits tightly into the groove.

For the deck look, both types of locks are suitable. But locks like locks are better suited. It will be easier to lay them using the deck method, because in boards with this type of locks, longitudinal locks are first connected, then longitudinal ones.

How to do laminate deck installation yourself

For easy and proper work, break it into several parts. So, we offer a step-by-step work plan.

• Preparatory stage. First you need to prepare the work surface: level the floor using the chosen method and remove all debris with a construction vacuum cleaner.

Important! The floor must be perfectly level.

• Make a backing. There are 4 types of substrate: bitumen-cork, foamed polyethylene, foamed polystyrene, polyurethane on foil.
• Carry out installation. It is better to assemble boards with a lock type lock in separate rows, and then assemble the rows together.

Important! To assemble rows separately, it is necessary to calculate in advance the position of the boards relative to each other.

Typically, the deck look involves laying each subsequent board at 50% of the previous one. However, it is advisable that the distance between the seams of parallel boards should not be more than 40 cm.
