How to repair a hole in a laminate floor? This method is very similar to using a ready-made laminate repair paste that can be purchased at the store. Before applying it, it is necessary to prepare the surface. To do this, you need to wipe the laminate to remove all dust and dirt. Apply masking tape around the resulting defect.

Using a spatula, apply putty to the hole, then carefully level it and remove all excess. After it has completely dried, you need to peel off the masking tape and remove the remaining putty using a damp cloth or rag.

This option is not suitable for walk-through areas, as vibration occurs when walking and the putty will begin to crumble quite quickly.

Repairing damage with plaster and sawdust

A mixture of sawdust and gypsum is the most inexpensive way to get rid of various chips, cracks and scratches. For this you will need:

• Gypsum and sawdust. They must be mixed in proportions 1x1;
• Add a small amount of water and mix the resulting mixture thoroughly;
• You should get a thick mixture, similar in consistency to a paste. If the solution is too thick, then you need to add more water;
• The resulting paste must be carefully rubbed over the existing defects, removing all excess. After drying, wipe the floor;

If the hole is quite deep, then first you need to put a wooden sliver into it and only then apply a mixture of plaster and sawdust.

If desired, glue can be used instead of plaster. Glue and sawdust are mixed in the same proportions, however, no water is required. The effect will be the same as when using gypsum.However, after restoration work, the treated area will need to be varnished.

Repairing cracks with sealant

This option is only suitable for shallow defects. Sealants come in colored and white. If the first option is used, then you need to choose it as close in color to the laminate as possible; if it’s white, then after grouting it needs to be painted over. The sealant has the property of shrinking, so repairs must be carried out in several stages, allowing it to dry completely. You need to use a soft rubber spatula, so the risk of damage to adjacent areas will be minimal.
