In what cases is the carpet cleaned with salt?

Experienced housewives do not recommend using hot water and hard brushes for cleaning, leaving fresh stains to dry, and using chemicals on natural fiber products.

The simplest and most popular recipe for cleaning the coating with table salt:

1. First, it is scattered on the carpet and allowed to lie for 20–30 minutes. It will be noticeable how it darkens, absorbing dirt.
2. Then the grains are swept out with a broom slightly moistened with water. Repeat the procedure several times until the salt remains white.
3. To completely remove all particles, you need to vacuum the carpet.
4. The last step will be to ventilate the room to saturate it with fresh air.

The method is suitable for regular cleaning and simple cases of contamination. It will not cope with old stains.

Insects

Chemical-based products are easy to use, but are more expensive and more toxic than regular salt. The folk method does not harm the environment and is safe for children and animals. In addition, this product kills all dangerous microorganisms that can settle in the pile. Salt will help you quickly and effectively get rid of harmful insects.

Salt is actively used by summer residents, sprinkling it on the homes and paths of ants, which helps scare away annoying “neighbors”.

There is a great way to treat carpets against insects: to prepare the product you will need ingredients such as salt and soda.

1. Mix the ingredients in 1:1 proportions.
2. You can leave the powder or add water and let it brew for about 10 hours.
3. If you use the mixture in powder form, then sprinkle it on all fleecy coverings, leave it for a day, and then thoroughly vacuum it, removing insect remains.
4. If the choice falls on using it in the form of a solution, then it is applied with a spray bottle and also left for a day, and then all treated areas are vacuumed.

When there are animals in the house

Salt can help fight worms. Many pet owners are familiar with the situation when they removed parasites from their pets, but they returned, since their eggs can calmly wait out unfavorable conditions in secluded places. To prevent relapses of infection, it is recommended to carry out general cleaning of the premises using salt, as it destroys all traces of worms and fleas.

Salt removes dust well from lint and fluffs it up.

It improves the color of the product and returns fluffiness to the pile. To do this, follow a simple procedure:

1. First, spread the rug on the floor or table (depending on size).
2. You need to moisten the surface a little; it is better to use a spray bottle for even coverage.
3. Sprinkle generously with white grains.
4. Wait a couple of minutes for the moisture to be absorbed.
5. Pour warm water into a bucket and add 1-2 tablespoons of liquid soap. Mix.
6. Moisten a broom with the resulting solution and comb the pile with it.
7. Take it outside and hang it with the lint inside.
8. Knock out thoroughly.
9. Dry.

The carpet will become bright, the original color will return, and the pile will become fluffy and soft.

The finer the grind, the better, as the grains will be able to penetrate into the most inaccessible areas of the coating.

Allergies to chemicals and small children in the house - salt to help

Household chemicals cause allergies in adults and children. This is a powerful allergen that causes burning, redness, itching, and in severe cases even Quincke's edema. In addition, if there are small children in the house, then many mothers refuse industrial preparations, since they have a strong smell and are more difficult to wash out of the coating without leaving a residue. In such cases, they prefer to use salt, because it has no aroma and does not cause allergic reactions (except in extremely rare cases).

It turns out that ordinary table salt, which is sold in any store at an affordable price, will be an excellent substitute for expensive brands of products.
