Carpet on the ceiling - madness or style?
Many consider a carpet on the wall to be a relic of the past, but it is difficult to surprise a room with such decoration, since many still have photographs against the backdrop of a colorful carpet. But the carpet on the ceiling is something new and unworn. If you use this idea in the design of a room, you can get a pretty attractive picture.

Why do they hang carpets on ceilings?
The courage of designers has no limits. So they thought of hanging carpets on the ceiling, just to decorate the interior more intricately. You will object that a stretch ceiling will cope with this task perfectly. But, you see, a handmade relief or sculptural rug will fit into the design of the room very organically, and a room with such decoration will look original and unique.
If you want a completely exclusive product, you will have to prepare at least 3 thousand dollars. But you can limit yourself to a cheaper carpet, which, however, will not look so beautiful and elegant.
But such a solution can become not only a decoration. A carpet on the ceiling will perfectly retain heat, warming up the concrete floor, and will also act as natural sound insulation. This is especially true if you have very noisy upstairs neighbors.
In which countries does this tradition prevail?
Carpeting has a long history. It appeared long before our era and served to insulate nomadic yurts and stone medieval castles, and in the south, where it is almost always warm, it was used for softness. With the spread of Islam, which prohibits depicting people and animals, carpets acquired geometric patterns.
The Soviet people did not depart from this tradition either. Having obtained a scarce rectangle of fabric with an oriental ornament or with an image of a deer, they sacredly took care of the little thing, did not trample on it, but hung it on the wall.
Carpet on the ceiling as a fashion trend
While many scoff at the habit of hanging a rug on the wall, there were brave souls who adapted it to the ceiling.
The product will look unusual in the living room. Designers do not recommend using a drawing that is too bright. But a pattern of straight stripes combined with other decorative elements will be just right. It is not at all necessary to hang the carpet in the middle of the room. Thanks to the bright pattern, the room can be zoned.
Carpet designers also came up with a trick where a long narrow carpet, which starts on the floor, runs vertically up the wall and occupies part of the ceiling. Just try not to overdo it with carpets in the interior, so that your home is not confused with the home of Mongolian nomads.
For Feng Shui lovers, you can connect a pair of bamboo pipes on the ceiling above the bed at an angle of 45 degrees, stretching a fabric panel over them in the form of a canopy. In this case, the negative will bypass you. The ends of the sticks should not point towards the sleeping place.
How to care for carpet on the ceiling
Of course, the ubiquitous dust will also reach your carpet product located on the ceiling. You will have to deal with it, as usual, with a vacuum cleaner. But vacuuming is not as frequent as on the floor. With standard ceilings with a height of 2.2-2.4 m, this will not be difficult to do, but if you have old 3-3.5 m, then problems with cleaning may arise.
Before buying a carpet for the ceiling, consult with a designer so as not to make any mistakes, but to choose something that really suits your interior.
