• Self made. At this point it can be definitely noted that self-production is felting, and the material is sheep wool. Due to this, practicality and durability are reduced.
• There is a fine line between handmade and using a special machine. Such carpets are called tufted.

From the very beginning of their use, humanity has used carpets as decoration for their homes. Thus, it was possible to understand the owners about material support. In addition, hand-knitted pieces served as a source of heat retention in the room. If we talk about the first date when they just started knitting, then it is worth mentioning the period between the 16th and 19th centuries BC. Therefore, this fact is based on the presence of the image in the tomb. The oldest carpet has survived to this day; it was made in the fifth century BC. e. Archaeologists discovered it in Altai. At the moment it can be seen in the Hermitage.
