  1. A simple bench (hyppolitovka) is a durable flooring in the form of a board 40 mm thick. Widely used in the army.
  2. An inclined bench is a small exercise machine made of profile pipes with a diameter of 40x40 mm. The support is a rubber-coated rod no more than 10 mm thick.
  3. A bench equipped with special racks for barbells. The material is a 40x40 mm profile pipe, and the racks are made of steel, the thickness of which is at least 6 mm. They exercise on the exercise machine while sitting, and abdominal exercises help arch the back. Designed for athletic guys who can easily handle a heavy barbell. The simulator is mounted from durable corrugated pipe with a diameter of 60x60 mm and plywood of 20 mm or more.

If your arsenal does not include any sporting achievements in the field of independent training, then at the first stage it will be quite enough to build a simple bench without a supporting backrest. And it’s as easy as pie to make it without any drawings. You can estimate the necessary parameters by watching a couple of video tutorials online.

This bench consists of boards fixed to a frame.The latter is trimmed with dermantine or leather. There are no bench press racks or bars provided here. After some time, when the exercises become more complicated, the bench is modified.

There are no difficulties with installing the bench press bench. All data is available online, and if necessary, the dimensions can always be taken directly in the gym from the factory simulator. The most cumbersome bench has four supports, but it is considered not very comfortable.

The final stage is to drill holes for the mounting hardware and attach a suitable sized board or sheet of plywood to the frame.

This type of popular simulator is a little more complicated than the previous one.

IMPORTANT! Its most convenient modification is a bench press with support for your feet. A design feature is the replacement of the supporting section of the pipe with a thick-walled one so that it does not bend underfoot.

You don’t need such an attachment - use a regular support pipe with a diameter of 40x40 mm, as in the previous version.

The backrest in this case must be adjustable. To do this, you need to firmly weld an oblong metal ring to the support frame.There is no need to make any additional holes in the bench - the board is attached to the regulator. For strength, the adjustable backrest is equipped with a frame welded from corrugated pipe with a diameter of 20x20 mm.

Then four holes are drilled on each of the posts. It is best to drill them with a regular drill, exactly according to the markings made in advance. This backrest is called simple, because it has only five positions. Its inclination does not exceed 450.

Assembling a bench with a stand and back

The rack holders are made of metal strip. The installation of these components is no different from that described above.

ATTENTION! The optimal length of the posts is 0.82 m, the holes are spaced 0.15 m apart.

To increase the functionality of the bench press, you can attach handrails to the racks and use them as parallel bars.

How to cover the bench? You can take plywood (12 mm) as the base of the bench and cover it with dermantine.
