How to repair a cabinet door if the hinges are torn out

Very often, when a cabinet breaks down, the hinges break, and it is difficult to repair them if you do not know the instructions. In this article you will learn how to fix them quickly and easily.

How to fix broken cabinet doors

It’s worth noting right away that a number of defects can be corrected independently without any problems. For example, a common situation is creaking when opening/closing. Moreover, all doors creak, regardless of the material. The most unpleasant sounds are made by metal ones. In this case, it is not the cabinet that makes the sound, but the hinges, so they need to be repaired. You will need:

• oil. It is advisable to use special oil for hinges; machine oil can be used;
• syringe. There are no special requirements.

However, it is worth considering that there are some cases when replacing a hinge or door is much more profitable.

IMPORTANT FACT. As mentioned above, special hinge oil is a more necessary option, since it is sold in a special aerosol package.

The instructions for repairing the door are quite simple. It is enough just to coat the loop well; during this process it is advisable to open and close it once or twice so that the oil is better absorbed. However, if you have machine oil, then everything is a little more difficult. You will need a syringe. Almost anyone will do, including diabetics. You need to do all the same steps. Use only a few drops, otherwise the excess will end up at the bottom of the cabinet.

What to do if you vomit with loops

It often happens that the hinges come off and cannot be attached back, since the thread is too large and the screws do not hold.

For repair you will need:

• drill 8 mm;
• PVA glue;
• dowels 88 mm.
  

1. At the very beginning, you need to use an 8mm drill to enlarge the holes for the screws. Important, this is allowed if you are using other wood; otherwise, use the instructions below. The most important thing is to know when to stop and not to drill through. However, it is worth considering that the drilling depth must exceed 10 mm.
2. Take 8mm dowels. They need to be hammered into the resulting holes, and before that, lubricate them well with glue. Try to hammer in all the way, but be careful, as the dowel will easily push through the plate from the back. If you end up with protruding ends, cut them off.
3. Insert the screws into the dowels. The resulting design is many times more reliable than the previous one, because the screws are perfectly fastened to the dowels.

After this, you need to wait a little until the glue dries and hang the door.
