DIY cardboard screen

The screen has long and successfully replaced interior doors; it is an excellent solution if you need to separate a small area of ​​the room for relaxation and, finally, it is a very successful decorative element. It can always be quickly assembled when not needed. Despite all these obvious advantages, this product is rare in open sale, and it is made from wood or plastic, which is heavy and cumbersome. Therefore, we will make it ourselves from cardboard.

Cardboard screen - interesting solutions

You can decorate the product yourself with appliqués or paint it, even varnish it. Any interesting solution can be implemented, including finding unexpected applications. An interesting solution could be a multi-colored color scheme. Or a separate decorative element. The final look is limited only by “flight of fancy”.

How to make a screen out of cardboard

It doesn’t take long to make a cardboard screen with your own hands, it all depends on the scale and number of parts.

Necessary materials

• Cardboard. (from boxes of household appliances).
• Pencil.
• Scissors.
• Stationery glue.
• Parts diagrams.

Step-by-step instruction

We see that we have five elements in the diagram. We cut out each one and carefully trace it with a simple pencil on cardboard. You will need this many of them:

1. Figure A: 16
2. Figure B: 80
3. Figure C: 70
4. Figure D: 64
5. Figure E: 5

For parts E, it is more appropriate to use thicker cardboard, since these are the supports of our structure.

The main structures are A and B. We will have to fasten them together with elements C and D. We fasten parts B together with part C in the slots.

Thus, we connect all the parts and our screen is ready.

However, there is an even simpler method of production. Completely guided by your imagination, come up with identical shapes. Be it a circle, oval, square or star. You can even experiment with sizes and combine it all.

Decorating a finished screen is perhaps more difficult than making it. Proponents of minimalism in decor leave it in its natural form, sometimes allowing some appliqués or drawings.

IMPORTANT. When applying an applique or design, this must be done on the parts before they are assembled into the finished structure.

The easiest way to decorate a finished product is to paint it. You can paint it a uniform color, or you can give each detail a different color; this decoration will be more vibrant.

Now that you can make a screen yourself, you will appreciate its properties, because it can be used not only when guests visit, but also simply as an element of the decor of your room, especially if the screen is small in size.
