Detergents

You can use detergent and cleaner to remove grease stains. It is impossible to say which manufacturer is the best. The composition should be chosen depending on the budget.But in most cases, the active components are the same in different substances.

When choosing household chemicals, you need to pay attention to:

1. The powder can damage varnish and glossy surfaces. Detergents, aerosols and sprays are good substitutes.
2. Household chemicals eat away grease without using a sponge. It is enough to apply the mixture to oily areas. Then remove the mixture and fat with a rag or washcloth.
3. Household chemicals are not able to remove greasy stains on some surfaces the first time. These include: oven, hood, stove and any metal surface. To effectively remove grease, you need to apply detergent 2-3 times.
4. When purchasing detergents, you need to read the ingredients. In most cases, it will indicate for which surfaces the mixture is or is not suitable. If you bought a product but don’t know whether it can clean grease without harming the material, you can do a test on another surface.

Folk remedies

Among the folk remedies the following can be distinguished:

1. Paper towels. Ideal for removing fresh grease stains. Towels will not harm the kitchen set. In this case, fat is removed instantly. Wet a towel with warm water and wipe the stained area. As soon as the towel gets dirty, it is advisable to take another one.
2. A mixture of soda and soap. This option is suitable for dishes and household appliances. To prepare the mixture you need to: grind a bar of soap into small pieces and add a little water. Apply the soap solution to a washcloth and rub. Now clean the same area with baking soda applied to a washcloth. Wait 30 minutes. Wash the surface with a wet cloth.
3. Hydrogen peroxide. A good product to combat greasy stains. The substance can be purchased at any pharmacy.It should be used as follows: peroxide is mixed with soda. A thick mixture should form, a little like sour cream. Apply it to the greasy stain using a sponge. We wait about 30 minutes. If the fat is ingrained, it should come off and can be removed with a brush. Wipe the surface with a wet cloth. The effectiveness of using a sponge is that you can cut small pieces from it, which will be effective for removing small stains.
4. Melamine sponge. This sponge is made of hard material. It effectively removes fat without leaving streaks. But it cannot be used for some types of material. The process of use is as follows: wet the sponge with water and squeeze it out. We use it to remove fat. Small grains of this sponge could remain on the surface. We remove them using a cloth.
5. Steam cleaner. This is a very effective method that can be used on almost all kitchen sets. The exception is those that cannot be wetted with water. The advantage of a steam cleaner is that it will not only remove grease, but also disinfect the surface. This will remove dangerous germs and bacteria. The process of removing fat is very simple: turn on the steam cleaner. Apply steam to dirty places. Wipe off the water with a paper towel.
6. To increase the effectiveness of fat removal, you can combine several of the methods listed above.

Note! Hydrogen peroxide should not be used on glossy or varnished surfaces as it will damage the material.

How to remove stubborn grease from kitchen cabinets

If the grease has been on the surface for quite a long time and it has already become embedded, cleaning powders are best. But they are not suitable for all surfaces (they may leave scratches).There are special environmental substances for such surfaces. They are based on natural and mineral components. They are safe for people, the environment, the surface, and effectively remove stains.

Note! The use of acidic or ammonia products is not recommended. They are effective at removing grease but are harmful to most types of material. It is better to buy chemicals with a gentle effect (for example, an aerosol or spray).

It is more difficult to remove stubborn grease than fresh stains. It will take more time. In such cases, it is better to apply the solution to the greasy area several times. Wait a while each time you apply. And then remove the substance with a rag. You may need to apply the product up to 5 times.
