Do you need a folding bed today and which one should you choose?

Have you ever slept on a cot? This question is answered in the affirmative much more often than the question of whether you have a folding bed. It seems that such a bed is a thing of the past. I also thought so until a friend started looking for an extra bed for visiting guests. We found a folding bed, but were surprised when several acquaintances were ready to borrow it, and everyone had different models.

Turns out, Folding beds are still used quite often today. While trying to figure out which bed to use, we learned about modern folding products.

Regular

Most often this name is associated with this classic version. Metal tubes make up the perimeter of the product. They are also used for legs attached to the base so that they can be given different shapes.

The strong fabric (formerly tarpaulin, now polypropylene fabric) and the springs that attach it to the base are parts of a regular folding bed.

Those who have had experience spending the night on a tension model remember that over time, the bed springs tightened the material less and the fabric sagged. It was not very comfortable to sleep on such a bed. Today there is an opportunity to choose an improved option.

On mesh and springs

To avoid fabric sagging, manufacturers decided to abandon the material altogether. It was replaced by a durable steel mesh, which is also attached to the base with springs.

To make it easier to move the bed when unfolded and assembled, models with wheels have appeared. Now even a child can easily rearrange, or rather roll, the bed.

With headrest

Everyone is used to sleeping differently - on a high or low pillow, and sometimes without it at all.
Many models retain the ability to adjust the height of the part of the bed where the head will be during sleep.

Today, you can adjust the height of this part of the mattress under your head using a special wooden piece. By assembling the bed, you turn it into a horizontal surface that can be used for your phone, watch, glasses, etc.

With cabinet

Where to store an extra bed when assembled? This question often turned into a real problem if the apartment did not have a storage room. After all, it couldn’t be called interior decoration.

In order not to look for a secluded corner, manufacturers “tucked” the bed into a cabinet created specifically for it. Such a transformer does not spoil the interior, and disassembling the structure is still easy.

What if you need not one, but two sleeping places at once? This case is also provided. This design is no different from a single bed; the difference between the models is only in size.

Modern camping does not necessarily mean traveling without amenities. Of course, there are much fewer of them than at home, but still. Remember what tents have become.You can choose a tall one, with several “rooms”. And sleeping in a bed in nature has already become a reality.
