The creation of any design begins with the most inconspicuous details. Just a few touches and the room can be transformed beyond recognition. Replace the lamp or install another lampshade on it and notice the beginning of a magical transformation.
Based on the purpose and other characteristics of the room itself, you can make a classic model using multi-colored fabric and lace. Fans of modern styles can use plastic or paper. Some people prefer abstraction - here feathers and other materials that are at hand will come into play.
With diligence, you can create something unique and inimitable; no one else will have exactly the same product.As you know, designs that are made in a single copy, according to the author’s idea, have a high cost. This is understandable, because a lot of personal time is spent on the work, but the result is worth it.
How to make a lampshade with your own hands for a chandelier
To make your own designer lampshade, you don’t need to spend a lot; inexpensive materials that can be easily found are quite enough:
- spoons, forks or glasses made of plastic;
- wooden ice cream sticks;
- pieces of various fabrics;
- lace and ribbons;
- buttons of various sizes and colors;
- rolled up magazines;
- beads or beads;
- multi-colored paper or cardboard;
- shells or beautiful pebbles picked up on the shore;
- clothespins;
- plastic straws for juice;
- threads or ropes;
- Wire is suitable for the frame.
From fabric
You can create quite interesting things from fabric.
And for our lampshade you need to prepare some materials and some tools:
- we will need two pieces of material of different colors;
- you will need a frame - they are sold ready-made, but you can make it yourself;
- the important things in working with fabric are a needle and thread;
- scissors.
Ribbons will look good as decoration; you can also decorate with old buttons or take pieces of other fabrics, as well as bows. Even clothes that have already gone out of use can well serve as decoration.
Reference. Usually a template is used to make a lampshade. To do this, you need to cut out a pattern, and then, using this stencil, transfer the design to the fabric.
The top and bottom of our product can be covered with pieces of fabric of a different color, or you can use braid or lace.
From threads
Such lampshades have gained popularity quite recently. They are not just light - they weigh nothing at all.By changing the diameter, you can make a toy for the Christmas tree or a room decoration, or even a lampshade. Any color of thread is suitable for work. You can decorate the top with lace and ribbons or glue beads with buttons.
To work you need to prepare:
- inflatable ball;
- thick threads;
- glue.
By changing the frequency of laying the threads, you can make an almost weightless thing, or something more dense.
Important! Before you start wrapping the ball with threads, you should smear it with Vaseline - this way it will be easier to remove it from the lampshade when it dries.
Sequencing:
- First, we inflate the balloon - the size of the future product depends on this procedure. At the bottom we draw a circle that will not be covered with threads.
- Wrap the ball with thread. The order of winding the threads does not matter. We coat each layer with glue. Once everything is completed, set the ball aside for five hours to allow the glue to dry.
- We pierce the ball and take out what is left of it. Now we insert the lamp with the socket and hang our chandelier from the ceiling.
You can modify the technology a little. The ball needs to be replaced with a plastic bottle. Thicker threads will be needed. We wrap the bottle with tape. Then we proceed in the same way. As a result, we get a completely different type of lamp.
From paper
A very interesting version of the lampshade can be obtained if you make it from paper.
Important! Paper products do not tolerate high temperatures, which is why incandescent lamps cannot be used in them. Exclusively LED or energy-saving.
To make your own paper lampshade, you need to prepare:
- as a base - a paper ball;
- paper stickers;
- stationery scissors and glue.
First of all, cut circles from stickers.
We glue the resulting blanks onto the lampshade until it is completely covered with them.
For work, you can take not only ordinary sheets of paper - corrugated or velvet paper looks beautiful. Instead, it is quite acceptable to use lace: this will make the lamp weightless.
From plastic spoons
By doing some simple manipulations, as well as using packages of plastic spoons and forks, you can create a unique lampshade that can diversify your interior. Such products will fit into any room, be it a kitchen or a hallway, and will look good in the bedroom and even on the balcony.
To create such a lampshade, you need to stock up on:
- several sets of plastic spoons;
- five-liter plastic bottle;
- stationery scissors;
- glue gun.
Sequencing:
- Cut off the bottom of the bottle and treat it with acetone.
- Cut off the ends of the spoons.
- Starting from the bottom, glue spoons onto the bottle.
- We make a bezel and fix it at the top.
- We pull a wire with a fixed socket through the neck. Screw in the lamp.
If desired, the spoons can be repainted in any color. This technology will make a good lampshade for a floor lamp or wall lamp.
Don’t discount forks and knives made of plastic - they will give the lampshade a completely different look.
