DIY lampshade for a chandelier or lamp

How to make a lampshade with your own hands for a chandelier

To make your own designer lampshade, you don’t need to spend a lot; inexpensive materials that can be easily found are quite enough:

• spoons, forks or glasses made of plastic;
• wooden ice cream sticks;
• pieces of various fabrics;
• lace and ribbons;
• buttons of various sizes and colors;
• rolled up magazines;
• beads or beads;
• multi-colored paper or cardboard;

From fabric

Sequencing:

1. First, we inflate the balloon - the size of the future product depends on this procedure. At the bottom we draw a circle that will not be covered with threads.
2. Wrap the ball with thread. The order of winding the threads does not matter. We coat each layer with glue. Once everything is completed, set the ball aside for five hours to allow the glue to dry.
3. We pierce the ball and take out what is left of it. Now we insert the lamp with the socket and hang our chandelier from the ceiling.

You can modify the technology a little. The ball needs to be replaced with a plastic bottle. Thicker threads will be needed. We wrap the bottle with tape. Then we proceed in the same way. As a result, we get a completely different type of lamp.

From paper

A very interesting version of the lampshade can be obtained if you make it from paper.

Important! Paper products do not tolerate high temperatures, which is why incandescent lamps cannot be used in them. Exclusively LED or energy-saving.

To make your own paper lampshade, you need to prepare:

• as a base - a paper ball;
• paper stickers;
• stationery scissors and glue.

First of all, cut circles from stickers.

We glue the resulting blanks onto the lampshade until it is completely covered with them.

For work, you can take not only ordinary sheets of paper - corrugated or velvet paper looks beautiful. Instead, it is quite acceptable to use lace: this will make the lamp weightless.

From plastic spoons

By doing some simple manipulations, as well as using packages of plastic spoons and forks, you can create a unique lampshade that can diversify your interior. Such products will fit into any room, be it a kitchen or a hallway, and will look good in the bedroom and even on the balcony.

To create such a lampshade, you need to stock up on:

• several sets of plastic spoons;
• five-liter plastic bottle;
• stationery scissors;
• glue gun.

Sequencing:

1. Cut off the bottom of the bottle and treat it with acetone.
2. Cut off the ends of the spoons.
3. Starting from the bottom, glue spoons onto the bottle.
4. We make a bezel and fix it at the top.
5. We pull a wire with a fixed socket through the neck. Screw in the lamp.
