5 household assistants that only give the appearance of cleaning

Any person wants cleaning in the house to be as quickly and efficiently as possible, so very often we purchase various tools to restore order. Over time, their list keeps growing and growing, but the desired result never happened.

In fact, not all household helpers can make our life easier, and can even make the situation worse. We tell you which cleaning tools are best left on the store shelf and forgotten about them forever.

Automatic broom

There is a simple primitive broom, consisting of twigs, whose appearance does not change for years. And there is a new miracle of technology, which is also a broom, but automated. Essentially, this is something between a regular mop and a vacuum cleaner, but the thing is quite large. Under the body there are brushes, which begin to rotate when the device is turned on. There are no wires, the gadget is completely mechanical. And it seems cool, but...

Firstly, an automatic broom is unlikely to remove crumbs on the carpet - its purpose applies exclusively to smooth surfaces: linoleum, laminate, parquet, tiles.

Secondly, working with such a device is a rather difficult process. Due to its size and design, a broom is unlikely to remove debris from the far corners, and along the walls, it’s not worth trying.

Pipidastr

A dust broom... And it seems like it’s also a necessary thing and should help with cleaning in a matter of minutes, but the problem is that it simply raises dust into the air without collecting it at all. Perhaps some part will remain on the pipidastra, but the main dust will simply scatter throughout the house. It is clear that this state of affairs will not at all make the establishment of order high-quality and effective - it will only waste your nerves.

Microfiber cloths handle dust much better. They seem to magnetize particles to themselves and prevent them from scattering. It's much better to use them.

Mop

In the store you can see different models of mops, which, however, do a good job. But the most useless of them is the rope one. It is almost impossible to squeeze it out, which is why it turns out that there is a whole puddle on the floor, which is then simply carried back and forth from room to room. This type of washing is not suitable for all floor coverings, if not for any at all. From such close contact with water, linoleum, parquet, and laminate will soon deteriorate, mold will appear, and with it other problems.

By the way, there are buckets with a special compartment inserted into them to wring out a rope mop. But this does not save from excess water, no matter how these ropes are twisted.

Steam cleaner

In general, such a device is a mega-cool thing that helps kill germs and bacteria without the use of aggressive household chemicals. In addition, the steam cleaner is ideal for cleaning a home where allergy sufferers and/or small children live.

But here there is one significant drawback. The gadget is not suitable for all surfaces.For example, on some types of fabric (if you want to treat curtains or upholstered furniture) it can leave stains; for wooden coverings you will need an additional nozzle. Also, the manual model is quite heavy, which will not allow it to be used for a long time, and it has a very small tank for liquid - you will have to constantly refill it and wait until the device heats up again. A significant waste of time and effort.

Robot vacuum cleaner

The device is certainly very effective, useful and multifunctional. Many models are equipped with various additional functions that definitely make life easier for their owner. But there are several nuances when you should definitely refuse to buy a robot vacuum cleaner:

• you have carpets with a very long pile - not all models are able to overcome such an obstacle, and therefore the device will simply become useless;
• Round-shaped robotic vacuum cleaners are unlikely to clean corners efficiently - however, some products have rather long brushes that will reach even the farthest corner, but there will be problems with wet cleaning;
• If there is furniture in the apartment, there are paths everywhere, and there is always something lying on the floor, then it is unlikely that the robot vacuum cleaner will help you clean up the mess, since it needs free space to work.

And if you are a sloth, then this device is definitely not for you, since it needs to be washed after each cleaning so that the tank does not become clogged. The entire procedure takes up to 20 minutes.

And what imaginary helpers only complicated your life? So much so that you understand: sometimes good old rags and graters are much more practical than new inventions.
