How to save on lighting
Recent government innovations regarding incandescent lamps, namely a ban on the sale of products with a power of more than one hundred watts, seem to hint at the need to save electricity and purchase LED bulbs. But all the same, no, no, and we forget to turn off the light, and it stays on without any need. And the counter continues to rotate at breakneck speed.
But it’s already the twenty-first century, and many inventions have been invented to save electricity. That’s what we’ll talk about, my dears, and at the same time we’ll get acquainted with some tricks that allow you to save a lot on lighting without breaking the seals on the electric meter.

Setting priorities
Hefty chandeliers with five hundred watts are recommended, if not dismantled, then just unscrew the bulbs from a pair of shades. There is a reason to buy LEDs instead of old incandescent lamps, this will give a tangible advantage in the long term.
You can get by with directional lighting sources - table lamps, for example. Their required power is significantly less than when using chandeliers. This is especially noticeable if the rooms have high ceilings. The gain when using table lamps can be almost half. Unless, of course, you take into account the cost of acquiring them.
There are so-called adjustable lamps, by using them you can change the illumination of the room depending on the situation.
Without taking into account the costs of economical lighting equipment, lighting costs can be reduced by three to four times. Another thing is that the investment will pay off in more than one or two months, since most of the energy costs are for heating (if there is no central heating). You can’t turn off the refrigerator either, the TV will most likely also work as it did.
Progress on guard
In order not to torment yourself and the switch, you can make a so-called smart home by sticking sound, heat, motion sensors, photo relays and other clever devices everywhere. But again it all comes down to their cost.
There is definitely a reason for installation (by the way, if you don’t understand electricity, then installation will also cost a pretty penny) when the room is large, several floors, and the light sources count in the dozens. Otherwise, it may happen that the relay will be covered with a copper basin faster than it will recoup its cost. Then the whole point of such automation is to show off the eyes of guests and acquaintances.
Street lighting: successful combinations
If you have your own patio, then you can arrange the lighting in it in such a way that diffused light falls into the windows, and there is no need to flip the switch in the middle of the night in case of, say, a night raid to the refrigerator or a trip to relieve yourself.
There are LED lights powered by solar panels. They don't consume a watt of energy. Their downside is their considerable cost, so they are useful in the long term.
Street lighting should be used with a photo relay so that it starts working at dusk.A motion sensor is suitable if there is no need for constant lighting at night.
"Smart" lighting in the house
It is definitely worth installing lamps with a motion sensor in the bathroom, toilet and kitchen. Even if the pleasure seems expensive, we must not forget that ordinary switches eventually fail from frequent use. And not everyone has a memory like Julius Caesar.
Not exactly new, but few people know
You can use the remote control not only to switch TV channels from a horizontal position. There are also lamps that come complete with “lazy ones”. A very convenient thing, and you can not only turn the light on and off, but also change the lighting modes.
Practical advice for a young housewife
Don’t neglect basic cleaning and glass washing. If the window is overgrown with dust and cobwebs, the house will be in semi-darkness, and this is not obvious at first glance. But the fact becomes clear after a good cleaning: it’s worth wiping off the dust from the lampshade and - lo and behold! The lamp begins to produce much more light. Wide open curtains allow you to turn on the lighting half an hour later in the evening. And half an hour every day for a year is 182 hours per year.
In addition to the above methods, we can offer another option: install a two-tariff day/night electric meter. Usually the lighting is on at night, and the tariff at night is less than during the day. This thing will pay for itself faster than any housekeepers, relays, sensors and other devices.
And one more thing - a washing machine, one of the main consumers of electricity and water, is better (for the stated reason) to operate at night.
