Proper care and cleaning of household appliances from dust settling on them is not a whim of clean housewives, but one of the prerequisites for this very appliance to serve for a long time and without problems. Some people use rags when cleaning, others use sponges, but wet wipes remove dust most effectively. Their advantages, varieties and features of use will be discussed in this article.

Types of wet wipes for caring for household appliances

Household appliances are usually “capricious” to handle and require special cleaning products. For example, you cannot wipe the case and keyboard of a laptop with a wet cloth, as water that gets inside the device in this way can lead to damage to expensive equipment. Wipes used to care for household appliances must also meet the necessary requirements.

Today, there are two main types of napkins that can be used to wipe dust off equipment surfaces:

• microfiber cloths;
• wet wipes.

Benefits of using wipes to clean dirt from equipment

The advantages of microfiber cloths include greater cleaning efficiency, liquid absorption, good cleaning properties, as well as the ability to relieve static stress without creating a discharge. Cleaning with them does not leave scratches, streaks or other damage. Microfiber can be used many times.

Reference! The “classic” microfiber cleaning cloth has two sides: with a dense weave and with a thin weave. The first is most often used to remove difficult stains, and the second is used for final cleaning, removing a slight layer of dust or polishing the surface.

Products can also be knitted or non-woven. While the latter are used for dry cleaning and removing mild dirt, the latter are used only for wet cleaning.

As for wet wipes, during their production the base material is impregnated with the so-called surfactant - a specialized impregnation that allows:

• cope better with complex stains;
• remove static tension from the surface being wiped, which is especially useful when removing dust from the surface of equipment.

These wipes are usually used once and then thrown away. Products are usually supplied in packs of 10–20 pieces, or in special boxes that can hold a much larger quantity (50–100 pieces or more). Disposable wet wipes in individual packaging can only be found in some cafes and restaurants, and they are used only so that the guest can wipe their hands with them.

Reference! The moisture from the product will quickly evaporate if you leave it in the open air for a while.

Today, on supermarket shelves you can find a huge number of types of wet wipes: from baby wipes and antiseptic wipes to scented ones for intimate hygiene. And although many housewives do not pay attention to the type of product when cleaning, it is best to use special wipes to clean household appliances from dust.

This is especially true for computer or laptop displays: in tech markets you can easily find special products for them, which contain substances that protect the sensitive material of the LCD display from the negative effects of moisture and alcohol from ordinary scented “rags”.

Application of wet wipes for household appliances

The main rule for cleaning the surfaces of household appliances from accumulated dust is to use the necessary materials. For example, an ordinary damp cloth can be used to wipe the case and keyboard of a desktop PC or laptop, but it is not advisable to use it to wipe a monitor.

Reference! When carrying out deep cleaning of a particular piece of equipment, it is better to refer to its technical documentation: most often the manufacturer indicates exactly how and by what means the product should be cleaned of accumulated dirt.

In combination with dry cleaning, you can also use an antistatic spray, especially when it comes to monitors or TV screens. For cleaning refrigerators, microfiber in combination with an antibacterial spray is better suited. The same microfiber will be useful in removing dirt from metal surfaces of microwaves, multicookers, kettles, gas stoves and other equipment.
