Citrus rescue: why do I take a slice of lemon to the bath?

I no longer remember where and when I read this life hack, but for quite a long time I have been using lemon when cleaning the bathroom. Usually, if someone sees me walking into the room with a piece of citrus, he involuntarily makes a surprised face, saying, “why do you even need lemon in the bathroom?” But there is a very logical explanation for everything - it simply perfectly cleans taps and heated towel rails, on which dried drops of water are often visible. I'll tell you how to benefit from a slice of citrus and make your faucets shine.

How to clean a faucet with lemon

Everything is very simple. However, you only need two things - actually, a slice of lemon and a not-so-clean mixer.

This is what my taps looked like before cleaning:

In general, the situation is not the most catastrophic, since, frankly speaking, it has been worse. But using lemon is exactly the option when you need to do intermediate cleaning in order to prevent just such complex stains.

I’ll say right away that lemon will not cope with a particularly strong coating, since its effect will not be enough. But it will overcome light stains with a bang.

So, take a slice and simply rub the mixers with it. Is there juice flowing? This is not dangerous, but even good, since it will clean off plaque even better.

Now we leave everything for 15–20 seconds (in my case this is quite enough). If you want to clean more difficult stains, you can increase the time. Then thoroughly rinse the taps with water and wipe with a dry soft cloth. The result, in principle, is obvious - the acid will easily restore shine and cleanliness to the mixers.

I also clean the heated towel rail in the same way. However, it is a little difficult to wash it with water, so sometimes I just wipe it with a damp, alcohol-free cloth.

Here's a simple way to get rid of traces of plaque on your bathroom faucets. What cleaning hacks do you know?
