Clean cutting boards
This applies to wooden models, because it is known that wooden boards very well absorb various odors from the products that were cut on them. This is especially true for fish, garlic, onions, meat, celery, cilantro and other aromatic ingredients for preparing various dishes.
To get rid of the smell, just cover the board with a layer of salt, leave for 20–30 minutes, and then simply wipe the surface with a damp sponge. Additionally, you can wash the board in a soapy solution.
For a high-quality result, the surface of the board can also be wiped with half a lemon. The acid will penetrate into the deeper layers of the material and remove contaminants there too. Don't forget to rinse the product in clean water.
Remove broken egg
If you accidentally dropped an egg and it broke, cover it with salt and leave for 30 minutes. You will be surprised, but removing the spilled mass will be much easier and faster.
Prevent blockages
To break through the blockage in the drain, pour half a glass of salt into the pipe, and after 5 minutes pour in 1 liter of hot water. To enhance the effect, add baking soda (which will also get rid of the unpleasant odor) - also half a glass. Leave it all for 20 minutes, and then open the tap and let everything rinse thoroughly.
Such prevention can be carried out once every 7-10 days, and then you will never encounter the problem of blockages in the drain.
Get rid of wine stains
If you spilled wine on your clothes, carpet, or upholstery, you can also solve the problem with salt. True, this only applies to fresh stains - stubborn ones need to be dealt with in more aggressive ways.
Dilute the salt with water to a mushy consistency and cover the stain with the mixture. Leave for 30 minutes, then collect everything with a napkin and rinse with water.
The same method helps get rid of grease stains and traces of blood. True, then you still have to wash them a little. It is unlikely that it will be possible to completely remove the stain, but it will be possible to prevent the spread of the stain.
Clean the dishes
Salt is great for scrubbing off burnt milk on the stove, cleaning a coffee pot, kettle or thermos, and removing dark rims on cups. For a milder effect, it is better to mix it a little with water. Whatever one may say, salt still consists of large and hard particles that can scratch any surface.
