Life hack for a vacuum cleaner: cocktail tubes instead of a crevice nozzle

When I bought myself a vacuum cleaner, I made one big mistake. When choosing, I didn’t pay much attention to the presence of additional attachments, which are designed to make cleaning much easier when using the equipment. As a result, I received a vacuum cleaner with one standard brush attachment.

At first I didn’t have any problems, well, it removes garbage and does a great job. But when my little niece visited me and happily devoured shortbread cookies without leaving the couch, I realized what exactly I had missed when I gave up the crevice attachment for my vacuum cleaner. I was not good at cleaning all the crumbs from the furniture, so I, like all modern people, ran to the Internet for help. And what did I learn! It turns out that even if you don’t have a special attachment for your vacuum cleaner for hard-to-reach places, ordinary cocktail straws will help you cope with the problem. And this is what it all looks like.

DIY crevice nozzle - making cleaning easier

All you need for this life hack is:

  • tubes;
  • actually, the vacuum cleaner itself;
  • stationery eraser.

So, let's take the tubes. We calculate the quantity so that in the heap they fit perfectly into the vacuum cleaner pipe. There shouldn’t be too many of them - there’s no need to cram in what you can’t fit in. But don't take too little either. Let the stack slide easily into the hole without falling out.

If you take too many tubes, they will break when you start inserting them into the tube. If you take little, everything just falls out.

Once you have determined the optimal number of tubes, the stack needs to be tied with a rubber band. However, it is also suitable for hair if the first one is not in the house. It is important that the tubes are not pinched too much, otherwise they will bend and all efforts will be in vain.

Now we insert all this into the pipe and use it for our health.

By the way, don’t be afraid that the vacuum cleaner will suck up the tubes. The elastic band not only holds the products together, but also serves as a kind of barrier. And if you are still afraid that something will go wrong, then, after turning on the vacuum cleaner, hold the tubes with your hand to see if the suction power can pull the structure inside.

Yes, I agree that it would be better if I didn’t save money, but bought a vacuum cleaner that included a special crevice nozzle - then I didn’t have to invent anything. But, as they say, it’s too late to drink Borjomi. That’s why you have to resort to such non-standard methods, coming up with such life hacks and, of course, making your life a little more difficult.
