On the eve of the New Year holidays, it is very important not to go crazy. And it’s not just about running around the shops looking for gifts and groceries, but also about preparing the house. If you are celebrating this New Year with friends or relatives, and they are gathering at your place, then you need to think through all the little things in advance that will help you quickly put things in order later.

Remove carpets in rooms

A carpet in the interior of any room is very beautiful and cozy, especially if it is chosen correctly. But at the same time, this is extremely impractical. Of course, if there is one tenant or a family of up to 3 people living in the apartment, then cleaning the carpets is not so difficult. But when guests gather in the house, the carpet very quickly turns into a collection of dust, crumbs, and small debris.

You can solve the problem in a simple way: before the celebration, roll up all the carpets and place them in the back room/closet/on the balcony. This will protect the lint, and you will get rid of unnecessary cleaning.

Consider additional places for shoes

To prevent the corridor from turning into the abode of a centipede on New Year's Eve, take care in advance of additional pallets in which you can put your guests' shoes. Firstly, this way you will get rid of scattered shoes and boots. Secondly, prevent the floor from getting dirty, because there will be a lot of people, and someone will step in the dirt, which will then be carried into the clean rooms.

If the lighter option is to free a special shelf from household shoes. For a while it can be rearranged in a closet or even on a loggia.

Organize storage of outerwear

Usually, a mountain on a hanger of down jackets, fur coats, sheepskin coats, hats and scarves does not look very attractive, and the hooks may not withstand the weight. It is possible that clothes will fall off on the dirty floor - you will have to be distracted to collect all this mess, and guests will spend time cleaning clothes. Agree that at least a little, but the mood will still deteriorate.

Guests' belongings can also be stored in a separate room. There is another option, but it involves financial costs. You can purchase a special hanger rack and carefully hang the outerwear of relatives and friends on it.

Put covers on furniture

It is clear that few people pour champagne while the chimes are chiming in the kitchen. Usually a more comfortable place is chosen for the celebration. As a rule, this is the living room. The sofa in it is in most cases used as the main seating area. Of course, no one will deliberately throw pieces of herring or Olivier on the upholstery, but it is better to play it safe and cover the furniture with protective covers. This makes it much easier to keep it clean than to waste time cleaning and drying later.

Put away extra things in the house

Before the meeting, walk around the room, collect all unnecessary things in a box or basket and temporarily take them to another room. After the holidays, be sure to return it to its place.

Clean the bag in a vacuum cleaner

It's no secret that when a vacuum cleaner is clogged with debris from previous cleanings, it operates at a minimum of its power. And you may need the device after the holiday. Therefore, be sure to empty the bag so that on January 1 or 2 you can clean the floor of small debris. This will save time and ensure order in the house.

Don’t forget to rinse the filter: dust can also accumulate on it, which reduces cleaning efficiency.

Buy wipes - both wet and dry

Having napkins on hand will help you quickly wipe off the stain (wet) and blot up any spilled liquid (dry). In addition, they are very convenient for wiping your fingers if they are covered in grease, because anything can happen and it is possible that someone will want to eat baked chicken with mushrooms with their hands.
