And competitors, and no less attractive alternatives for other rooms.

Toothpaste

The cheapest you can find. But it must be menthol - this smell is most pronounced in cheap toothpastes.

How to use? Yes, just make several holes in the tube with a large needle or awl and send a kind of air freshener into the tank. The paste will slowly dissolve in the water, gradually being washed out of the package. Well, after pressing the flush, the finished solution will clean the toilet well, rid it of bacteria and plaque, simultaneously refreshing the atmosphere in the toilet.

Soda

An ingredient that is found in every kitchen, it perfectly absorbs unpleasant odors. If you put an open pack of soda in the closet, the aroma of old things will never appear there. This method also removes the smell of naphthalene very well.

In the kitchen, baking soda also adequately solves the problem of unpleasant odors. You just need to get into the good habit of sprinkling it on your garbage or dishwashing sponge after use. And if you put a small amount of this substance in the refrigerator (in an open jar, for example), then it won’t smell bad either.The main thing is not to forget to change your homemade air freshener at least once a week.

A soda-based spray can even cope with tobacco smoke. And you only need one tablespoon of this substance, dissolved in two glasses of water. The mixture is poured into a sprayer and... In general, you can spray it both in an apartment and inside a car - and the smell of smoke will weaken, and the smoke itself will become noticeably smaller after such treatment.

Note to motorists: if you sprinkle baking soda on the seat upholstery, let it sit there for a few minutes, and then sweep it away with a stiff brush, you can get rid of unpleasant odors and stains. Remains of the substance can be easily removed with a regular vacuum cleaner.

Vinegar

It is also found in every kitchen. And it can also be used to eliminate unpleasant odors. For example, dropping a few drops of the substance onto a hot frying pan will make the air in the kitchen noticeably fresher. Second use: drop a few drops into a cup of water and place the solution in the desired room. In just a few hours, even the smell of smoke will noticeably weaken, not to mention less persistent aromas.

A sponge that has been moistened with vinegar after use will also never begin to smell bad. And if you wipe the refrigerator with such a sponge, then only the smell of freshness will remain in it. The same method is good when treating surfaces after cutting fish: neither the board, nor the knife, nor even the table will emit an unpleasant aroma if they are wiped with vinegar.

Lemon

If you cut this fruit in half and sprinkle with baking soda or regular table salt, you will get a wonderful air freshener. It can be placed in the kitchen or living room, in the bathroom or even in the refrigerator - the effect will be everywhere.

You can make a lemon spray: 1 tsp.juice per 1 glass of water. This product can be used simply as a freshener. Or you can use it to treat the upholstery of furniture marked by pets, getting rid of the smell and simultaneously solving the problem with the unpleasant behavior of pets.

Well, if you don’t want to transfer the juicy pulp to a freshener, you can get into the habit of collecting citrus peels in a jar. They collected it, poured it with vodka (or alcohol) and set it aside for several days in a dark place. Then this tincture is diluted with water (if vodka, then 1:1, and if alcohol was used, then at least 2 parts of water per part of the tincture).

If desired, you can add a few fresh peels or a few drops of essential oil to the resulting mixture. The freshener is ready. All you have to do is pour it into a spray bottle and you can safely get rid of unpleasant odors in the entire apartment, from the kitchen to the toilet - it will work everywhere. And it will not only refresh, but also disinfect.

Spices

Coffee, cinnamon and cloves are time-tested options that few people know about. These products work even if you simply pour them into a bowl and modestly place them in a secluded corner. They also help out if you need to freshen up the atmosphere at home in an emergency - you just need to heat up coffee or spices in a frying pan and walk around the apartment with it. The aroma will be rich and lasting.

Bay leaf is also suitable as a freshener. You just need to set it on fire and walk around the apartment with the smoldering leaf. There will be no trace of unpleasant odors. The smoke itself, emitted by the smoldering laurel, gives the air an aroma of freshness and purity.
