How to instantly bleach tile grout so that they are perfectly white: a builder suggested
Tiles on the walls and floors always look beautiful and fresh, regardless of whether it is a kitchen, bathroomand or hallway. And the material itself is both in demand and popular, since it is durable, durable and easy to maintain.
However, the tiles also have one minor drawback - the joints between the tiles, which over time turn yellow, become dirty, and sometimes become moldy. The appearance of the room instantly deteriorates, especially if it is a light-colored material. Some people who are faced with such a problem, for some reason, immediately decide to update the grout, although this is a waste of both time and money. If you are faced with the fact that the interior suffers from darkening of the tile joints, then there are several very effective, and most importantly, cheap, ways to correct the situation.

Renewing tile joints
Solve the problem in different ways that help quickly and effectively whiten darkened grout.
Marker
Construction stores sell a special marker that you can use to paint the joints between the tiles. Its advantages are that it is moisture resistant, suitable for any surface, absolutely safe, has no chemical odor, and is quite easy to use. And some options are even capable of providing an antiseptic effect, protecting the grout from mold and bacteria.
Before starting work, the surface must be washed from dirt and deposits and dried. Then shake the marker well and run it along the seam, drawing a line of the required width.
Toothpaste
This method is even simpler than the previous one. You just need to take an old toothbrush, apply a small amount of toothpaste to it and clean the space between the tiles. There is no need to wash off the product; let it dry, and then the seams will turn white.
If the work was not done very carefully, then do not worry: the remaining paste on the tile itself can be easily cleaned off with a damp sponge or brush.
Soda
This is also a very easy (but effective) folk way to whiten tile joints. To do this, you need regular baking soda (which, in fact, is in every home) and, again, an old toothbrush. Cleaning seams is done as follows:
- moisten the surface with water and soda along the seams;
- wait 5–10 minutes for the powder to take effect;
- take a brush or dish sponge, pour a little more soda on it and clean the grout;
- rinse thoroughly with water (you can use a watering can if this is a bathroom).
Vinegar+soda+citric acid (juice)
The recipe is also very simple:
- take half a glass of soda, 25 gr. lemons, about 50 ml of vinegar;
- mix everything until smooth and add 1.5 liters of water;
- moisten a toothbrush in the composition and treat the joints;
- wait 15 minutes for effectiveness;
- Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
When implementing any method, it is very important to take personal protective measures: wear rubber gloves, and in the latter case, a face mask (there may be a strong smell due to vinegar).
