How to get rid of insects in the summer - simple methods tested from personal experience

Summer has come, and with it various insects unceremoniously invaded our lives. Neighborhood with them is unpleasant and unsafe for humans. So I did not escape the fate of being bitten by them. In this regard, today I will share remedies that will help drive away insects in the summer.

The solution is pure

It's no secret that insects will live where there is food for them. We take it away - and they themselves will disappear! During the warm season, I watch this especially. No trash in the bin, no crumbs on the table, no open sweets - nothing that could be eaten by them. Jam, sugar, honey - all in closed jars. I regularly wipe the tables and floors in the kitchen to avoid food residues in the form of sticky spots.

However, this is not enough! It is important to know exactly the nuance of who exactly is “visiting” you. I prepare my own treat for each annoying guest.

Vanilla guards the blood

The presence of mosquitoes in the house is extremely unpleasant. No one can argue with this. Since they are very sensitive to smells, I prepared an unusual scent for them - vanillin tincture. Her recipe simple and quite effective:

  • take 120 grams of vodka and 7 grams of vanillin;
  • mix the components thoroughly;
  • Gently apply a small amount to exposed skin.
Vanilla powder

To these creatures I immediately became unpalatable. They definitely won’t touch it for three or four hours. They don’t like alcohol, and with vanilla it’s doubly unpleasant.

I tried and wormwood decoction, And a mixture of lemon juice and water, and just lemon rubbed the bites.It helps, but the cooking time is quite long.

Oil against bloodsuckers

A good solution to this issue was to use aroma oils. I read on the Internet that mosquitoes do not tolerate scents of lavender, rosemary and eucalyptus. Have a deadly effect on them mint, juniper, geranium oils. A few drops on some wardrobe accessory will easily repel insects.

One evening mosquitoes simply attacked my house. There were no saving oils, as well as a fumigator, and measures had to be taken immediately. Found in the kitchen clove seasoning. Several "flowers" poured boiling water over it and gave leave for 15 minutes. All my household members rubbed their skin on their faces, arms, and shoulders with this infusion. Paper napkins Fine wetted And laid out on the floor and window sills. The uninvited guests immediately quietly left.

Harmful, creeping, biting

It is only in fairy tales that ants are examples of hard work and strength. For me they are real pests! They come uninvited in clouds, climb everywhere, bite and spoil food. Meeting them does not bring me any joy, and it is difficult to get them out.

Ants in the kitchen

What did I do to make them go away! Cucumber peel placed it in the places where the ants entered our house. After a while I changed it for dry mint, as a result of which there were practically no flies and spiders in the apartment. But the ants did not leave. I even blocked their paths of movement coffee beans And hot pepper.

The unexpected decision was corn flour. On the advice of the doctor at the veterinary clinic, where I took the cat for vaccination, I carefully sprinkled it along the path of the ants.Over the course of a week, I observed that their number decreased day by day and gradually disappeared. The effect was that the ants eat cornmeal as food, but cannot digest it, which is why they die. The advantage of using it in the fight against insects is that it is absolutely harmless for children and animals.

I took note of another method using boric acid. But I didn’t try it anymore, because although this chemical is effective in fighting ants, it is dangerous for small children and pets: it causes severe irritation to the eyes and mucous membranes of the skin.
