How to use essential oils in the kitchen
This room is characterized by an unpleasant odor, sometimes coming from the refrigerator or microwave. Getting rid of it couldn't be easier!
You can place a small porous pebble or wooden block in the refrigerator door. All the magic here will lie in a couple of drops of lemon or lavender essence applied on top. After just a couple of hours, not a trace will remain of the former unpleasant aromas.
You should put a bowl of water in the microwave with three drops of peppermint oil dissolved in it for 3-4 minutes to warm up. After this procedure, there will be a fresh aroma inside.
Orange and lemon can be added to dish soap. This way, each wash will also provide an antiseptic effect.
Among other things, the kitchen is a place where you can cut yourself or get burned. In this case, you should always keep tea tree, lavender and eucalyptus extract on hand.The first will help with cuts (you can drop it directly on the wound), and the second and third have healing effects on burns.
Ester mixtures for wet cleaning
You can easily create the feeling of real mountain air in your apartment. To do this you need:
- Place 3-4 drops of lavender oil on a cotton swab.
- Suck up the cotton wool with a vacuum cleaner.
- Without turning it off after this, vacuum the entire apartment.
You can also freshen the air in your room by adding a little essence of cedar, lavender or bergamot to your cleaning water. This way it will also be possible to disinfect all objects and the floor.
Tea tree oil for cleaning plumbing fixtures
There is a very simple recipe that allows you to remove dirt and limescale from tiles, sinks, bathtubs and toilets. You will need:
- 100 ml warm water;
- 15 ml of any detergent;
- 15 ml alcohol;
- 20 grams of citric acid;
- 5 drops of tea tree ether.
First, the oil and detergent are mixed separately, and citric acid is dissolved in water. Then these two compositions are combined and alcohol is added. Now you can safely apply the resulting solution to a dirty surface. After 10–15 minutes, you just need to wash it off with water. After this, all microbes will be destroyed and the plaque will disappear.
Aromatization of linen and air in the room
The most common use of oils is aromatization. To make the air around you pleasant, simply choose the scent that you and your family like. A couple of drops in the aroma lamp is enough for a huge room.
Small rooms are even easier to freshen up. For example, in the toilet or bathroom you can leave a small pebble with a drop of the chosen oil on the shelf (the same as in the refrigerator). After some time, the impregnation will evaporate, then the procedure can be repeated.
In your closet with clothes you can place a small sachet containing dried flowers with oils of rose, lavender, mint, ylang-ylang and others. Before washing, you can drop the essence on some item - the aroma will spread to all the laundry in the washing machine drum.
An iron with a sprayer will also help create a subtle trail of natural perfume. Similarly, by dropping oil into water poured into a special reservoir, you can not only make the ironing process more enjoyable, but also create an individual, subtle aroma.
How essential oils help fight moths, mosquitoes, ants and other insects
It is known that various poisons and insect repellents are very harmful to humans. This issue is especially concerning when there are children and pets in the house. In such cases, essential oils come to the rescue again:
- lavender, lemon – repels moths, mosquitoes, ants and other bugs;
- peppermint - flies, mice and rats;
- eucalyptus - cockroaches;
- fennel - fleas;
- thyme - kills lice.
Taking this information into account, it is recommended to soak cotton wool or gauze with the desired extract and leave it on the windowsills. To specifically exterminate certain insects, it is necessary to make a solution of oil in water and use a sprayer to treat the area where they accumulate. If necessary, the operation can be repeated several times.
