A trick from the Soviet army that will help your glasses not fog up when wearing a mask

Today it is difficult to find a person who, over the past year, has never worn a medical mask in connection with well-known sad events. And many of us are also forced to combine wearing it with glasses due to poor vision. So they encountered a problem: the windows fog up almost every time.

In the Soviet army, this problem was solved in five minutes, and the secret was known to every soldier who took the young fighter course. But the Soviet army has not been functioning for a long time, and therefore we consider it our duty to tell you how to make sure that your glasses do not fog up when wearing a medical mask.

Why do glasses fog up when wearing a mask?

The reason here is very simple and probably understandable to many.

Warm air begins to rise through the gap between the mask and the face, which the person exhales. It passes through the lenses, leaving condensation on them, which causes clouding. Another striking example is a gas mask. When performing active physical actions, a person begins to breathe more often and harder, which provokes fogging of the windows. Moreover, not only soldiers, but also schoolchildren faced the problem while learning the basics of basic military training in class.

How to solve a problem?

It's too simple to be true. It is enough to use ordinary laundry soap. All that is required is to rub the glass with a bar, and then forget about condensation for a couple of days.

The option with twisted ribbons helps some. To do this, the behind-the-ear bands of the mask need to be fixed not in the usual way, but by first twisting them in a spiral - this way the air will escape from the mask through the side holes.

Another effective way is shaving foam. But you will have to rub it well into the surface of the glass using a dry, clean cloth. Naturally, any actions are carried out on the inside of the glasses.

Shaving foam is often used on bathroom mirrors to prevent them from fogging up when taking a shower.

If you really don’t want to resort to the “old-fashioned” methods, finally buy a special spray - antifog. You can find them in sports stores (they are often used by swimmers) or online. The price of such products is not cheap at all, but they work as efficiently as possible and are definitely better than soap or foam.
