What to make from an old crib: interesting options

While recently sorting out things in the attic, my husband and I discovered a huge number of children's toys, clothes, essentials, as well as a crib, which until recently was an integral part of the comfortable existence of our kids.

We did not sell or give away the crib, as many of our friends did, but decided to keep it as a keepsake. Now, after several decades, the husband suggested giving the baby's cradle a second life, slightly redesigning it and changing its purpose.

By slightly changing the design and shortening some parts of the crib, you can get a small sofa or armchair. As a child grows up, he develops new hobbies that require his own workspace. An ideal option for a baby would be a table made from a children's bed, which would be suitable for his height and would also be an excellent place for drawing or playing.

Using a bed on wheels, you can design a unique mobile serving table for your home. At a summer cottage, a crib can also be transformed into a useful table on which garden tools, pots with seedlings or flowers will be placed.

Convenient drying rack

In this case, you won’t have to redo much, since the side walls of the crib are already ready for new use. You just have to show your imagination and comfortably install or nail individual parts of the device to the wall for the housewife.

Hanger for clothes or kitchen utensils

Many people use the back or sides of the crib as a hanger for clothes in the hallway, for storing towels in the kitchen, or for collecting necessary materials in sewing workshops. Having firmly secured the headboards to the wall, hooks are glued or nailed to them, on which towels or pots can be placed. You can create a two-story house using one of the side parts for the stairs.

An old crib will make an excellent coffee table or a couple of small chairs that will be useful for growing children. It will also make a convenient and compact rack for books, magazines or other children's accessories.

In my opinion, furniture made with your own hands has good energy, which is very important for comfort in the house. Such products are unique, since the author himself chooses the style, selects the shape and carries out the production.I am very glad that my husband suggested dismantling the attic and carrying out some kind of “revitalization” of the old furniture. Now everything that has been gathering dust in the attic for years can fully function again.
