2. The upholstery is removed from the lid. As a rule, it is secured at the bottom with brackets or buttons.
3. A prepared piece of fabric is stretched (it is better to use thick, wear-resistant fabric) and secured in the same way as old upholstery. The color of the latter can be matched to the shade of the upholstered furniture: it always looks stylish, or it can be made contrasting. But it definitely shouldn’t be the same as the legs.

An old cabinet can also be repainted with regular paint: the doors in one color, the sides in another, and the kitchen unit can be finished with self-adhesive (also in 2 shades). With due diligence and care, the result is excellent.

Modern fittings can be purchased separately, or you can replace the handles with more interesting ones - the appearance of the cabinets is immediately transformed.Or do it this way - paint the set in one color, and the handles in a contrasting color.

Major refurbishment

In this case, a change in the design and purpose of the item is assumed. In the early 2000s, bulky desks were fashionable. For a desktop PC today they are not relevant and take up a lot of space. They can be turned into a comfortable bedside table or small table by sawing them in half.

The main thing is to correctly draw up an action plan, complete the drawing and take measurements, and think through the finishing.

Major remodeling is not always associated with difficulties. For example, if you remove the doors and shelves from a bookcase and attach hooks, you will get an open hanger for outerwear. Again, the main thing is to color it in an interesting way so that it starts to attract attention.
