More powder - better wash
Many ladies do not use a measuring cup when pouring washing powder onto their eyes. For some reason, it is generally accepted that the more of it there is, the cleaner things are. In fact, the system works the other way around.
Excess powder is not washed off from clothes and remains in the folds of the fabric. It attracts dirt, resulting in your favorite T-shirt having to be washed even more often.
Why wash a dish sponge?
Most housewives don’t even think about the fact that all kinds of rags, brushes and sponges also need to be cleaned. They accumulate so much bacteria, dirt and dust on themselves that it’s scary to imagine!
And then we boldly wipe the furniture with this dirt to make it clean. And then we wonder - where are the divorces coming from again? So you should remember the main rule: after cleaning, we must disinfect all tools.
No rags needed
A very common mistake is to apply the detergent directly to the surface, and then smear it with a sponge.Firstly, unsightly stains may appear on the furniture. Secondly, excess detergent remains on the surface, which attracts dirt. As a result, the house becomes even dirtier than before cleaning. So don’t forget to use (and disinfect!) special rags.
Floors first
Under no circumstances should you start cleaning by washing the floors. The main principle of cleaning is to work from top to bottom. That is, we first wipe the dust from the furniture so that during cleaning it does not fly off onto the floor itself.
Then we vacuum, otherwise the water will simply rub away the dirt. And only then do we pick up a mop, pour a capful of cleaning product and wipe the linoleum.
Hot water - hot dishes
You need to wash the dishes right away, otherwise removing the remaining stuck food will be very long and difficult. But you shouldn’t reach the point of fanaticism and put a hot pan under water. Sudden temperature changes damage the coating.
This approach is especially dangerous for Teflon non-stick pans. A hot surface plus warm water - and you can say goodbye to expensive dishes once and for all. So let’s remember one more rule: wash the pots after they have cooled a little.
The washing machine does not need to be cleaned
After every 5-10 starts, you need to wash the device itself. A large amount of dirt, dust and pathogenic bacteria accumulate in its drum, which then easily migrates to clothes.
To avoid this, set the machine to the highest temperature, add a special cleaning agent or citric acid to the drum and start it. The compartment must be washed by hand in any convenient way.
Cleaning with cold water
When wiping floors, dishes and cleaning surfaces, do not use cold water. At this temperature, most alkaline products are ineffective: they do not clean well.
Therefore, it is more correct to use liquid 10 degrees above room temperature. It can be warmer if it is comfortable for your hands. At this temperature, many products work much better.
No clean hood
Most people clean their hood vent every few months. But it’s better to do this at least once every 2 weeks. It accumulates dust and dirt, which then fly into the apartment.
It should be cleaned with a cotton swab dipped in vinegar or citric acid solution. The ventilation hole can be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner.
