7 ways to add emotions to your interior (relevant when it’s autumn outside!)

Autumn is a time of some special melancholy, when you unthinkably want to wrap yourself in a blanket and indulge in pleasant sadness. And it is during this period that for some reason I want to bring warm notes, pleasant associations and soft textures into my home. I will tell you about seven features that will help bring emotions into the interior - so necessary for each of us during leaf fall and the rainy season.

Textile

With the arrival of the first cold weather, denser and more massive textiles appear in the interior - airy tulle is replaced by heavy curtains, and a warm blanket or even animal skin is spread on the sofas.

In fact, it is precisely these products that add comfort and tranquility to any room. Small pillows on armchairs, small rugs by the sofa or bed, lush curtains, delicate bed linen - all this directly affects our psychological state. Of course, if you don't overdo it with their quantity.

Textile

Be sure to add bright accents to your interior that will completely transform your room - be it a bedroom, living room or even a kitchen. How much does a merino wool bedspread cost? This spectacular detail will definitely evoke in you the warmest and most pleasant emotions that we so need in the fall.

Indoor flowers

When it’s grey, slushy, bare trees and not at all cozy outside, bright plants on the windowsills are what you need.They make the surroundings sparkle with new colors and introduce a touch of summer (or spring) greenery into the interior. The best options are:

  • ever-blooming begonia - blooms profusely and brightly;
  • violets are small, delicate flowers, but require special care;
  • geranium is a light-loving, unpretentious plant that can bloom all year round;
  • anthurium is beautiful and spectacular, and, according to popular belief, it blooms only in a house where peace, mutual understanding and love reign.

Definitely add some kind of tree to your interior, and it will definitely give you pleasant emotions and sensations.

Deep shades

Don’t forget to update the color scheme of your home, because warm, rich colors are much better perceived in the fall:

  • mustard;
  • deep wine;
  • chocolate;
  • dusty pink;
  • terracotta;
  • dark blue and green;
  • olive.

Add them to textiles, decorative items, and furniture. In the bedroom - bed linen or candles, in the kitchen - glasses or plates, in the living room - small pillows or the same blanket. If you want dramatic changes, paint a wall in some room with one of the suggested colors, and the exact effect will be guaranteed.

Lighting

Make room zoning. Let the rooms have one main light, and the rest - additional, so to speak, for the soul - sconces, floor lamps, night lamps. Naturally, secondary lighting should be less powerful, but this makes it more comfortable. On cold autumn evenings it is very pleasant to sit in the light of only one sconce, but for work or reading it is better to use something brighter.

Bright furniture

Do you want bold changes in the fall? Does your inner self require rich accents and catchy details? There is a solution - a bright blue armchair in the living room, a crimson dressing table in the bedroom, lush green stools in the kitchen, a wrought-iron shoe stand in the hallway (ornately and elegantly decorated). All this will add a unique style to the interior, making it unusual and memorable.

However, be careful: if the room is designed in a classic or minimalist style, then an acid blue sofa will look, let's say, a little out of place.

Pleasant aromas

Smell - every home has it. Roughly speaking, when it smells of “pies and irons,” it seems as if quiet, cozy, such simple human happiness has settled here. In autumn this is more important than ever. But why does this happen? The fact is that the image of any home is formed from a variety of feelings. Visual perception was mentioned above, but smells are a separate category. After all, we all know the aromas of mother’s borscht, grandmother’s pies, and grandfather’s meat.

Of course, to add a smell that will evoke warm associations to your home, you don’t need to rush out to fry chops or quickly cook charlotte. It is quite enough to place scented candles, special air fresheners or sticks around the apartment. The right smell is the key to success if you want to add something special and unique to your interior.

Cozy decor

Without it, the house looks unfinished. But this does not mean that you urgently need to put on the shelves all the little things that you have accumulated over the years of your life. Cute trinkets are considered cute as long as they take up minimal open surface area.So what to choose for the autumn interior? Yes, a lot of everything! Vintage items, the same pillows, paintings of yellow trees, a mini fireplace and many other things that will bring emotions into your interior.
